Bearing in mind the pro's and con's mentioned in other reviews on this site I thought I would give it a shot for a couple of days whilst on a Cornwall trip with my girlfriend. The place looks like a rennovated block of flats from the outside and not what we expected...however upon entering the building you get a pleasant... more

Had seen The Metro on previous stay so decided to book in for Easter. Place was great. All equiped in "Ikea chic". It was clean, warm and very friendly. The rooms were just the right size with just the right furniture. Shower room was clean, beds were made daily and the place was clean and tidy with no fuss. Breakfast... more

The strange part about this hotel was having to clear your breakfast things yourself and stack them in a dishwasher. Isn't that what we do in Youth Hostels not hotels. Our room had a foul smelling drain but to be fair we were able to move rooms but what would have happened if there wasn't a room free? The staff... more

We were looking for a break from the traditional b&b and we found what we were looking for. It is like walking into an IKEA showroom when you go through the front doors but we like that so we felt right at home. If you are looking for a traditional b&b then you would not like it. The breakfast room... more

After reading mixed reviews on this hotel, we were a little dubious before arrival. But as soon as we entered the lobby it was like a cosy, home from home. Great facilities, cosy fire, internet, wifi, and a basic yet comfortable, minimalistic style room. Lovely breakfast room with childrens play area, and the buffet breakfast was super! Unfortuanately the pool... more

Was reluctant after having read some of the reviews but thought we'd give it a try seeing as there were the odd good one. In all honesty, we found this hotel disappointing with most of the views already expressed below. I just think its a little shabby and was very basic. It is a real hike to the town centre... more

Was little worried that the hotel just couldn't be as good as the reviews suggested - BUT it was. It's a family friendly hotel with a relaxed feel. The open breakfast area is a great idea and means you can use the facilities (microwave etc) in th evening which is esp helpful for a 10 month old baby. Being able... more

Just got back from a 2 night stay at the Metro whilst travelling around the south west with my girlfriend. Didn't really know what to expect, but think this is the best B&B I've stayed in. The place was spotless and they have kind of modernised the B&B experience. Our room was not huge, but there is plenty of room... more

Myself, my wife and 8 month old stopped at the Metro in May and we were so impressed with what felt like a new style of accomodation, with a communial kitchen, free coffee machine, homely feel and friendly staff. They have a live in receptionist and she was really friendly and helpful and the fact she lived there meant you... more
