The hotel was clean fresh and had been recently refurbnished. The rooms were serviced everyday and if you needed anything, the people running the hotel couldn't do enough for you. Breakfast was run from 0800 - 1100 on a self serve basis and the kitchen was available for use for anyone staying at hotel on a 24 hour basis. There... more

I went to stay at Metro for my birthday in June 2010. At first we were very dubious due to previous reviews but we enjoyed our stay that much we stayed longer!!!! Although our room was quite small, it was very clean and modern which served our purpose perfectly!!! After all, we looked at it as it is just a... more

Friendly helpful staff, bright and clean rooms. Excellant continental breakfast facilities. 15 minute walk into town, or short bus ride from right outside the door of the hotel. Nice patio area for sunbathing or just relaxing enjoying the peace and quite. more

This funky hotel is ideal for a family who want to stay in Newquay away from the 'party areas'. The rooms are comfortable and quiet. Located just outside of town although there is a bus stop outside for the town and beaches. The best bit is that the hotel is like staying at home. You can bring in a takeaway... more

My wife and I chose this place to spend the night as it was cheap and only a short taxi ride away to Jamie Oliver's Fifteen Cornwall restaurant in nearby Watergate Bay. The hotel looks quite shabby from the outside, but inside, the lobby is modern, clean and spacious. Our room was very basic, but it was clean, had lots... more

On paper this guest house has everything that you need. En-suite accommodation, continental breakfast, free hot-drinks round the clock, communal areas and free internet (either via the PC in reception or free wi-fi on your own device). The rooms are clean and basic with modern furnishing straight out of Ikea. There is nothing wrong with Ikea but the whole place... more

Thank you for the positive comments you posted re your stay at the Metro. However can I take this opportunity to point out that we target ourselves at young couples and families and as such we never ever take stag or hen parties, and in fact it is mentioned on the Website. That style of decor was chosen as it...

I stayed here with my 2 young children (8 and 6) recently. We visit Cornwall a lot, and normally stay in more "expensive" places, lovely though they are, this year we had to be on a strict budget. Found this place on the net, so thought we'd give it a try. Its a bit different, because although it is strictly... more

With laminate floors, flat-screen TVs and a fresh purple and white colour scheme, The Metro stands out like a sore thumb in amongst the dated and faded chintz one usually expects to find at a British seaside resort. The staff are friendly and helpful, the bedrooms are clean and spacious, and the 'help yourself' continental breakfast is varied with a... more

stayed at the Metro with x2 teenagers - staying in Newquay for a National Surf Life Saving Competition. Room basic, small but comfortable. Fantastic to be able to have breakfast early as needed to be on the beach for 8.30. Plenty of room in comunal area, relaxing after a day at the beach to be able to 'hang out' and... more
