We stayed here for 2 nights. We paid for a 'superior' room, by no way it was superior! The walls and headboard were dirty and stained, the bathroom full of cobwebs and not clean and the bathroom window did not open. Neither myself or my family had any sleep due to a flimsy partition wall between the rooms. We were... More

As a keen coastal for me this hotel has everything from the widescreen tv which have all the sport to the marvellous food. I stayed in room 231 which had a sea view and it was worth it. I love NEWQUAY as the hotel is right on the coast path. I found the hotel just right, not too noisy and... More

We stayed one night in a twin room after deciding to stay an extra night in Newquay for a gig that evening. When we entered the hotel, the reception area was large, clean and tidy. We had to use the lift to get to our room on the second floor. On entering the room we were taken back to the... More

This stay was such a pleasant surprise -drove down from Southampton at the beginning of July with my partner to stay for 4 nights at the Great Western. This was my first time in Cornwall and what a fantastic surprise it was -staff were absolutley brilliant and made us feel at ease all the time - they were nothing but... More

We paid for a premium room, and glad we did as we got a sea view. The room was adequate, clean and tidy. Pre-paid breakfast really limits your choice though, and there is no fruit or yoghurt. You may as well wait. Allow plenty of time for breakfast as it takes a while. The coffee at the hotel is dreadful!... More

We were made very welcome on arrival, we had been upgraded to a lovely sea view room and the room was very light and airy so was the bathroom with a very good shower and lighting. The food in the Steam restaurant was very good and reasonably priced. The outside area was good for a drink or eating. We were... More

We stayed in the property for 3 nights. The view from the hotel is very good and centrally located. The restaurant and bar of the hotel is good and well decor. Staffs are pleasant, polite and helpful. The base category room doesn't have sea view and quite small in size. But the hotel especially base category rooms in renovation. Otherwise... More

I stayed at the Great Western for 5 nights in August. I chose the hotel due to the cliff top location and paid slightly more for a sea view room. The room was clean, bright, spacious and had great views of the Newquay coast. The hotel is a short walk from the town centre and there are plenty of beaches... More
