Stayed for 3 nights in a fairly big premium room with a view of the sea. Our room was on the 2nd floor and we had a lovely bay window. Unfortunately it was overlooked by diners from the restaurant next door which meant we had to keep the curtains drawn on the right side of the window. The views from... More

Stayed here for 3 nights, we had booked a superior room, not cheap @ £125 per night without breakfast but it was lovely, room 112 on first floor. It was large and spacious with settee and really comfortable king size bed. Bathroom also was very large. All spotlessly clean. We had windows that looked all ways, along beach to harbour and... More

attended a wedding in the function room, it has lovely views across the bay. The room was lovely, there was a lovely fish and chips supper which was cooked to perfection, the tartar sauce was divine. good service from the staff.

I booked three nights in a "Premium" room with sea view in this hotel, with my wife for our Ruby wedding anniversary celebration, as we had honeymooned in Newquay. The Premium room turned out to be a box room, with a standard 4' 6" bed, with an on suite installed by a caravan fitter, as it was the smallest space... More

Thank you for taking the time to post a review regarding your recent stay with us here at The Great Western. I apologise that you left early and were unhappy. We are an older building and although we have an ongoing refurbishment planned, we appreciate that there are further improvements required. The majority of the hotel has now been upgraded... More

We are regular visitors to Newquay but this was our first stay at the Great Western Hotel. On arrival we parked up in the main car park where we had prepaid for parking, spaces are allocated and the visitors name clearly on display. Checked in easily enough and went straight to our room.... We were amazed with our room, the... More

Come here once again because the place is nice, it's been a little while since I last stayed here, we got a good deal on a site, £150 for two nights and I was totally amazed when we got here that we had a sea view room (room 239) small room but definitely good just for two bath/shower not a... A last minute weekend away got us a Saturday night budget room for £69.50 - which left us even more tired than the furnishings! Housekeeping do a great job keeping this hotel clean with tired and chipped furniture and a warren of corridors which smell. The entrance, and unwelcoming reception really make you want to walk back out. Reception was... More

Room was very small but was clean and despite looking out over the road was relatively quiet. The Breakfast was very disappointing with poorly laid tables, and mediocre food, drinks and service. Some of the staff would benefit from some good customer care training. I'm sorry that I cannot recommend this hotel.

Great hotel in a good location very clean and very nice restaurant and bar areas drinks are a little pricey though but the food is great and reasonably priced. Pre book parking because there are limited spaces but there is a carpark opposite that is cheap enough. Amazing views. Friendly staff. Highly recommend.
