It was a pleasant mid-October morning, so my husband and I thought we'd have a nice cup of cappuccino al fresco with a fabulous view, but oh no - the seat was wet, the table was sticky with scattered choc bits, the cappuccino was tepid (nearly cold). The staff''s reaction on reporting these three things was laughter and what appeared... more

Had to wait quite some time for the receptionist to finish her phone call to a friend (couldn't even get into the car park as it was locked). She eventually dealt with us with bad grace, at first denying that we'd booked a parking space - then she checked the records and admitted that we had. Room was okay but... more

Had a 'boys' weekend away in Newquay so the priorities for this trip were a bed, somewhere close the nightlife, close to the beach and not too expensive - the GW satisfied all these so it just gets a 3 out of 5. If I was feeling mean - or staying longer with the 'other half', I might have given... more

we arrived Monday lunch to find car parking reserved for us, thank you Great Western,Charged us a fiver for the entire stay and refunded us when we left, in essence we parked for free! If people were charged for parking it's probably because they lost their keys!! Room 220 was spot on, recently refurbished and a very high standard, lovely... more

The hotel itself is beautiful outside and in. The refurb is lovely providing comfort and a little luxury for a relaxing break. The rooms are basic but everything you need for a break in Newquay. The hotel is situated on a beautiful cliff edge, with stunning views. It is however situated right next door to a huge Barracuda bar so... more

We stayed at this hotel as a base for visiting the many wonderful gardens in Cornwall. We booked 2 single rooms and reserved a parking bay at the front of the hotel. The location of the hotel was excellent as was the service we received by the hotel staff. Our rooms were out the back and generally very quiet, apart... more

What a dump! Like a ramshackle rabbit warren, grubby and shambolic. Food dreadful. Wouldn't stay again if it was free. more

Stayed in this hotel for two nights in June. The hotel is in a great location for the great western beach. The hotel is clean tidy and modern and has parking at the front, which we used. The room was small but was all we needed, our room was located at the front of the hotel and was fairly noisly... more

Good things first. The young woman on reception, who seemed to be on duty 24 hours when I was there was nice. The view from the room and from the beer garden is great. I booked parking, but no space was reserved. I was given a space around the corner in a private car park. Although I was told that... more
