Come here once again because the place is nice, it's been a little while since I last stayed here, we got a good deal on a site, £150 for two nights and I was totally amazed when we got here that we had a sea view room (room 239) small room but definitely good just for two bath/shower not a... A last minute weekend away got us a Saturday night budget room for £69.50 - which left us even more tired than the furnishings! Housekeeping do a great job keeping this hotel clean with tired and chipped furniture and a warren of corridors which smell. The entrance, and unwelcoming reception really make you want to walk back out. Reception was... More

Room was very small but was clean and despite looking out over the road was relatively quiet. The Breakfast was very disappointing with poorly laid tables, and mediocre food, drinks and service. Some of the staff would benefit from some good customer care training. I'm sorry that I cannot recommend this hotel.

We decided to stay an extra night in Newquay after spending a long weekend in a caravan, we had walked past the hotel and thought we would see if they had a room for the night. Receptionist was very helpful and booking of the room took seconds to complete. Check in was straight forward, however no parking was not available... More

Just returned home from 2 nights at the Great Western Newquay. Staff were all lovely, could not do enough for us. The receptionist even went online and printed off our boarding passes. Food was good from the "Steam" restaurant (mainly pub grub) and the cream tea was lovely too! Room 112 has wonderful views overlooking the sea. You can fall... More

So sad the food has gone downhill, was expecting it to be at least ok now the holiday rush has finished. We were a party of 6 ordering a variety of food. The mussels were 4/10 , small in individual size and quite tasteless, poor sauce, the steaks were very poor quality meat, grizzley and cooked too quickly ... so... More

Welcomed by a welcoming receptionist who was most helpful. I booked this hotel a few days before so wasn't expecting much, however we paid only £68 for 2 people and we got a fantastic sea view. The room was dated, tiny and needed a general revamp. The restaurant was nice enough, ok food. No real atmosphere or service from the... More

The location of the Great Western is good - convenient to the railway station and one of the first major hotels on the taxi route from the airport. Plenty of restaurants close by and it is on the main street in this very touristy town. The reception seemed understaffed and undertrained. Rooms are ok - we paid for a premium... More

Very nice hotel, with very accomodating and friendly staff. We stayed in a superior double room and our views were amazing, however as we were on the ground floor we had quite a bit of noise coming from the neaby bar which unfortunately had it's outside area right beyond our window, this made the room slightly less private :( had...
