4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2013 NEW

We were a coach party from a gardening club staying at the hotel to visit several gardens in Cornwall. Everyone seemed very happy with their rooms, some had sea views, others had larger rooms, but all were comfortable. The food was excellent and plentiful. The staff very busy, but as we had earliest sitting, we had their full attention for... More

We were welcomed by friendly staff, our room was large and comfortable, although maybe a little dated it had everything we needed. The bed was really comfortable and we both had a great nights sleep which is unusual for hotel stays. Shame we were only staying for the one night, we sat and wathced the sun set over Fistral beach... More

We were in a small group of 15 older people for two nights and I was worried the hotel would be full of young surfers. My expectations weren't very high, but in fact the hotel was clean and comfortable if a little dated in places. The mattress on the bed was a bit soft for my tastes. The staff were... More

I booked very last minute and booked one of the last double rooms, so maybe that's why it was so cheap. We were extremely surprised when we saw that the room was enormous and had its own balcony, which we didn't pay for. Very clean and comfortable. Only down side was the creaky floors and because there were people staying... More

This is a happy hotel. All members of staff are proactive in attending to visitors' needs, unlike some hotels which have a cold and clinical approach to customers. The cuisine is first class and dining room staff are attentive to individual requirements. Rooms are equipped to a high standard. The view over Fistral beach is panoramic. This is by far... More

Had read encouraging reviews of this hotel, but was quite disappointed: The bunkbed in our room was coming apart, and had screws sticking out; I notified the front desk of thsi the first morning, and was told that someone would fix things, but two days later upon checkout nothing had been done. Ah yes -- checkout: I was too honest... More

Dear Antony, I was very disappointed to read your review and as I am sure you have noted from other reviews this is not to the normal high standards we pride ourselves on. As a hotel we encourage constructive criticism and feedback from all of our guests so that we are able to improve and continue delivering the highest service... More

The best part of this hotel is the amazing view. We stayed for 2 nights, this April, and it is all we enjoyed. We booked the best room available and had a great view from a balcony overlooking Fistral beach. The standard would be almost up to travellodge standard with a posher bathroom. Shame the panels were splattered with ageing... More

We stayed here for three nights at the beginning of April. The lobby of the hotel is nice and light and modern and so is the bar. The staff welcome you and were very friendly. You can have a coffee and sit in the comfortable chairs looking over the beach and watch the surfers. The dining room is very spacious... More

We enjoyed our stay here overall. The public areas were nicely decorated and pleasant. However, the staff were not terribly friendly and tended to chat mongst themselves a bit too much. We booked a Family Room with a sea view. It was brilliant - great view as promised, spacious and clean. The evening entertainment was a bit dire though, and... More

Thank you for taking the time to write a review, I am pleased that you enjoyed your stay overall but disappointed that you didn't receive the high standard of service that we expect from all of our team. We are looking to put some lockers in the changing areas in the near future and hope to see you again soon More
