Spent three nights there in October 2015. There was only bacon and fried eggs on the warm breakfast buffet but the bacon was freshly cooked and tasted very well Was susrpried that there were no sausages and no baked beans and this was very disappointing. Tea or coffee was brought round by the waiters/waitresses. There was porridge which was exceedingly... More

Stayed here 19th September for weekend, was lovely, we had an evening meal, which was very tasty, room and bed was clean, not to far from town 5minute walk. Only disappointment was on the Saturday evening when we ask to buy a drink from the bar, but was told it was closed, this was at 22.40 although was advertised to... More

The location was excellent. The receptionist was lovely (and was doubling as a barmaid). BUT....don't ask for food after 20:00 hours on a Saturday evening!!! The chef is highly accommodating, but the mature waiter in the restaurant will make you feel incredibly uncomfortable! We were only at the Kilbirnie for one night (after travelling from Surrey to settle my god-daughter... More

We visited the Kilbirnie Hotel in August 2014 and were not overly impressed... Much work to be done to live up to their 3 star rating and it is in desperate needs of modernising. However apart from that the location was brilliant - very close to the beach and a few minutes walk from the centre of town.

We stayed here one night over the bank holiday weekend. The staff were friendly and the room was smart, clean and a reasonable size. We didn't get up for breakfast so can't comment on that. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

The hotel was very clean and the staff were very helpful...we got extra pillows as soon as we requested them. The breakfast was good and if you went down after 8am the restaurant was quiet because the buses are getting ready to leave. The main problem that we had was our triple room (room 117) although a good size, had... More

After reading a few reviews i thought i'd be safe in booking a few days stay for my family. Sadly it was poorly run and in bad need of a refurbishment. A simple request of can you push the two single beds together for us wasn't fulfilled and was only the start. A hotel over-run with foreign visitors created an... More

Q: What to expect from a three-star hotel? A: in this case best nothing at all, that way one will not be disappointed. Following points are reasons to complain about: 1. unfriendly service - I do fully understand that when there are two busses to feed it does get busy, yet I am not used to get this as an... More

Dear Penjenkin, I am very sorry that you felt the cold the evening of your function on the 29th November. The heating was on in the whole hotel and as we thought it was a cold evening we even put a calor gas heater into the reception entrance to stop any cool air blowing in from under the door. I... The hotel itself is well located for the Beaches. Not too much of a walk to the Bars / Shops. I booked this Hotel over the Premier Inn because it has a Pool, "Thermal Spa" and Sauna. The Sauna was chargeable. Both the Pool and "Thermal Spa" where Cold. I had to pay for a Sauna to actually get so... More
