We were recommended by friends to stay in the delightful cottages attached to this charming hotel.the facilities and friendly welcome were just what we needed and we newfound almost immediately. The cottages lived up to their 5star rating, although the mattress was a bit lumpy!! Dog friendly, you couldn't fault this superb hotel in terms of location and amenities. We... More

Hubby and I had a really relaxing short break at the Headland a couple of weeks ago. Very friendly helpful staff. Great food (restaurant atmosphere quite hushed/genteel tho - and take care gents if wearing chinos as can prove squeaky on restaurant chairs...!!!), very comfortable rooms, beautifully done spa and cream tea and daffs on arrival a nice touch.

We stayed here for the second time this weekend. It is a lovely, quality hotel that despite its grand style is incredibly relaxed, you never feel out of place or awkward as can happen at some other luxury hotels. It's not perfect, some of the staff were obviously new (one waiter bought us someone else's food at both dinner and... More

Visited with my family and stayed in one of the 2 bedroom cottages which was absolutely perfect. This hotel is ideally located; you have the wonderful Fistral beach right on your doorstep, you have the wonderful views from, and across, both sides of the headland and you are close enough, but not too close, to Newquay town and all the... Our first visit to the Spa facilities was an absolute treat!! We decided on a spa package which included full use of the leisure facilities, delicious lunch and a glass of sparkly on top of our amazing treatments! I felt so relaxed after our morning of pampering driving home was a chore! The only problem is I now have to... More

The title says it all. We just keep coming back. It gets better and better. We're in our cottage as I write. It's a place to relax and recharge and let the cobwebs be blown away in luxury. The Headland don't get it right every time but it's a magical place and they get so much more right than they... More

Had a 3 night stay here for a wedding and everything was good - staff, food, location - it was expensive ( especially bar drinks) and the lining on the curtains was a bit tired, but the more important things were really very good. Fabulous location. There are a couple of small inward facing rooms to avoid, but , more... More

We have just returned from a weekend break at the Headland Hotel, and it was just what we needed. Friendly staff, comfy beds, old-style elegance and great sea views. Breakfast was very tasty, good quality ingredients and nice touches. The Spa was nice although the pool was perhaps over chlorinated. We would stay again.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Newquay's original 4* hotel and 5* cottages, surrounded on three sides by the sea. With stunning views of Fistral Beach, the Atlantic Ocean and Newquay Bay, this is your perfect beachside escape. Families, surfers, businessmen, couples - everyone is made to feel at home. Don't forget you can also bring your dog!Our stunning Leisure Area opened last year and is complimentary for Hotel and Cottage guests to use. Facilities include a heated spa pool with bubble seats and a jet stream, hot tub, aromatherapy showers, Swedish sauna and Cornish salt steam room.We are currently working on the final stage of The Headland Spa which will be complete in autumn 2013. This includes a host of exciting features including a robed dining area and relaxation lounge, a nail salon for manicures and pedicures, a Rhassoul, St. Tropez tanning room, a hydrotherapy bath and a suite of luxury treatment rooms including a VIP suite for exclusive use. We are endeavouring to keep the disturbance to our guests to an absolute minimum, and would hope that the allure of the spa relaxation to come will overcome any slight inconveniences that might occur along the way. During some of these works, it may be occasionally necessary to transfer some of the dining arrangements from our main Restaurant to The Terrace, The Ballroom, or one of our more intimate private dining areas. ... more   less
