We've been regulars at the Headland for years and have stayed in the cottages every year since they were built so not being able to give it five stars this year is very disappointing. To be honest they are starting to look a bit shabby and certainly not the five star advertised rating any more. The first problem was probably my... More

Second stay at this wonderful hotel. Situation is superb...beautiful views and very convenient for local beaches, Newquay and coastal walks, plus within easy driving distance of many lovely Cornish locations. Hotel is very relaxed and welcoming yet with very good standards of cleanliness and decor...it is so easy to find space to unwind and feel at home in this lovely... More

The Headland clearly sees itself in the same league as other top hotels in Cornwall and Devon such as Bovey Castle, Bedruthan Steps, and The Saunton Sands - all of which we know very well. The staff are the great asset - friendly, helpful, and cheerful; vast sums have been invested in things like the Spa, the on-site "village" and... More

We spent 5 nights last week in a 2 bedroom cottage which exceeded our expectations on all levels. The decor and views were amazing. A daily maid service was a real plus with clean towels each day. The cottage was spotlessly clean. We made full use of the hotel facilities and with two teenagers in tow they found plenty to... More

My friend and I went down for a 3 night stay at the hotel at the start of August. I had stayed in the cottages in February with friends and had thoroughly enjoyed myself and wanted to return to this higher standard accommodation. My overall stay was good, but not as great as I expected from my first trip. We... More

We stayed here on a last minuet break not being able to find anywhere available where they would take dogs and it was the best decision we made. Were still here while writing this and think its wonderful. Rocky our dog got lots if treats and cuddles from the staff. We stayed in a basic room which was just lovely... More

Stayed here for a week with the family. .. the hotel itself is very impressive and incredible location. Staff very friendly and polite. The serving staff were a little slow at times. Drinks in The Terrace sometimes took 30 mins to arrive. They blamed a queue for the coffee machine. Perhaps they need another one?! We were on a breakfast... More

I have just spent a fantastic night in the Headland Hotel, Newquay, the food is great & the breakfast choice in the morning is just awesome. It is a great place to unwind & relax after spending a morning, trying to learn how to surf with Dom who is the lead instructor with the Surf Sanctuary which is based at... More

We have stayed in the headland cottages maybe 3 times now... and hope to be back some time again- we can't stay away. The location is unbeatable- the views being second to none. The decor is homely, the service efficient! We can so easily get down to the beach and use the brilliant hotel facilities. We have stayed in the... More

Thank you so much for your lovely review. The cottages are a perfect base for easy access to the beach, town and full use of the hotels facilities. The tower-block cottage (Mariners 2) has great views right round from Newquay Town and the Gazzle through Little Fistral, Fistral beach to Pentire and Newquay golf course. We hope to welcome you... We have stayed at The Headland Hotel on two occasions now. Not knowing what to expect on our first stay (my birthday) we were blown away with all aspects of our 3 night break. When the staff realised it was my birthday they even left a birthday card in our room for me! We had the most fabulous break, I... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Newquay's original 4* hotel and 5* cottages, surrounded on three sides by the sea. With stunning views of Fistral Beach, the Atlantic Ocean and Newquay Bay, this is your perfect beachside escape. Families, surfers, businessmen, couples - everyone is made to feel at home. Don't forget you can also bring your dog!Our stunning Leisure Area opened last year and is complimentary for Hotel and Cottage guests to use. Facilities include a heated spa pool with bubble seats and a jet stream, hot tub, aromatherapy showers, Swedish sauna and Cornish salt steam room.We are currently working on the final stage of The Headland Spa which will be complete in autumn 2013. This includes a host of exciting features including a robed dining area and relaxation lounge, a nail salon for manicures and pedicures, a Rhassoul, St. Tropez tanning room, a hydrotherapy bath and a suite of luxury treatment rooms including a VIP suite for exclusive use. We are endeavouring to keep the disturbance to our guests to an absolute minimum, and would hope that the allure of the spa relaxation to come will overcome any slight inconveniences that might occur along the way. During some of these works, it may be occasionally necessary to transfer some of the dining arrangements from our main Restaurant to The Terrace, The Ballroom, or one of our more intimate private dining areas. ... more   less
