Had a lovely stay at Smarties lodge for New Years. The owner Jackie made us feel welcome as soon as entered the lodge, and we even had Cava and banana bread made for us to enjoy before going out on New Years Eve! Excellent location, a few minutes walk from Fristal beach and only a 1 minute walk into town!... More

My second stay here and as usual Jackie was super chilled and relaxed about arrival stay and departure. Great little area out back to hang wetsuits up to dry and store boards. If you are lucky you may get to sample some of her delicious banana bread! Definitely will stay again next time in Newquay.

Just had a fab week in Newquay, lovely surf lodge, very clean and tidy, felt like home. Ideal location, 5 min walk to all bars and restaurants, and bus station.Jackie was super and cooked a great breakfast, much needed after a long journey the day before and prior to a surf lesson. Stayed in 'The Harbor' room, which there was... More

Smarties is a little surf lodge close to both Fistral and Towan beaches - it's within an easy walk to everywhere in Newquay. My son and I stayed here on a surf break - we just needed somewhere clean and convenient to stay. It was ideal for us. Jackie was an amazing host and recommended several places for us to... More

Lovely Surf Lodge a few minutes walk from Fistral Beach. Jackie will welcome you with a Beer and Banana bed to your accommodation and give you advice on the best places to eat, surf and spend your time in Cornwall. She organised surf lessons for us too! We spent our time in the room ' Little Fistal' which was clean,... More

Came down with two friends for a chilled week and maybe some surfing. Jackie is a star, always happy and smiley and provided us with a well needed beer on arrival. She organised our surf lessons for us - Belushi's, another awesome place - and, although we didn't take her up on it, offered a cooked breakfast every morning that... More

We stayed in the double en-suite room for four nights (it has just been redecorated and is cosy, tidy and clean) Well what can we say other than we are so pleased that we found Smarties and Jackie! We came across Smarties whilst looking for somewhere reasonably priced and where we wouldn't have to share a room - It perfectly... More

Jackie was brilliant, gave us a warm welcome complete with beer and banana cake, and looked after us really well. Rooms were clean, location was perfect- everything for nights out \ food are within walking distance but it's quiet enough for us to get some sleep- and the vibe was easy going. Great value, we'll go back!

This place should be called Jackies'. It is all about the owner and how she interacts with her guests that makes you feel welcome, relaxed and completely at ease! The location is perfect. Our room was small but perfectly formed, comfortable beds and a good shower! Jackie really looked after us and was always up for a chat when we... More
