Very friendly helpful and attentative staff. Breakfast was really good. The room was a bit dated but clean and had great views (room 4). Have to say though that the walk down to town has a section which is a bit nerve wracking. Two cars can hardly pass each other and then you are expected to walk in the road.

My partner and I stayed at the hotel for 1 night. Although the décor is dated, we found our room to be very comfortable with stunning views over the river. The restaurant was closed on the Sunday evening (although they did have a private party). This was ok because it forced is to have dinner in the town. The only... More

We stayed in one of the rental cottages. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. We ate in the restaurant twice and found the food very good. We took advantage of the free drinks voucher and Richard took the time to explain the different types of gin and provided some free samples to us. The pool was lovely and warm... More

I stayed here with my partner and 2 other couples and had a fantastic time! The staff were the most friendly I have encountered, and I work in the Leisure industry. They were happy to accommodate with any request and were eager to make our stay as relaxing and hassle free as possible. Our room was very nice and quiet... More

We stayed with a group of friends at Barclay House between the 10th-13th August and we had lovely time. The hotel is getting slightly tired however it is very comfortable and clean. We were overwhelmed by the fantastic service, the staff are certainly an asset! We had read reviews that the breakfast was amazing and we totally agree and would... More

What a lovely place to be away from the trials & tribulations of every-day life. Good spacious room (number 7) with panoramic views of the river / estuary below the hotel. Great staff and super restaurant - see my separate review on the restaurant - but the reception lady sorted out my flat tyre with the minimum of fuss and... More

We stayed at the Barclay House Hotel for two nights, (Friday and Saturday), in room 9 which is advertised as having a river view with balcony. It does have both, but is at the side of the building and the balcony actually looks over the carpark and stairs to the self catering cottages, the river and housing estate are visable... More

Just returned after staying in 2x1 bedroom cottages with our family group including baby and great-grandma. Our grand-daughter, aged 4, loved the pool and gardens. The cottages were clean and well equipped, the restaurant food was excellent and good value in comparison to many others we have sampled in Looe and elsewhere. Also the bar area very relaxed and comfortable.... More

I stayed at Barclay House for a week in a one bedroom cottage with my 8 yr old daughter - on arrival after a 6 hour journey the staff were extremely welcoming and helped us up to the cottage with our luggage, I was pleasently suprised at the standard of the cottage and suggest the management update the website as...
