we have just returned from our first visit to the Talland Bay Hotel. We had the most wonderful time - the hotel is beautiful, but the warmth of the welcome and the friendliness and efficiency of the staff made this hotel stand out from others. On arrival we were welcomed with a (complimentary) cup of coffee - very gratefully received... More

What a wonderful 4 night stay we had at the Talland Bay, everything about it was great even the weather was perfect. The food at dinner and breakfast was exceptionally good. We really loved the setting of the hotel with spectacular views from the dining room and garden area, and our cottage had its own little garden too. It is... More

This hotel is a delight, quirky decor, excellent food and a dining room overlooking the sea. You could be on the Med as opposed to Cornwall when the sun is shining and you are sitting on th patio or in the dining room. I cannot fault this place.

We had to go out and about in the area, and I suggested lunching here, a hotel I have known of since childhood, having recently read some nice things about it. I'm glad I'd noted the recurrence of the "Q" word (for quirky) in reviews, or we might have fled in terror as we drove in past wire mesh fairies,... More

From the moment you arrive, you know it’s going to be special. The location is spectacular and the staff are charming and helpful. The rooms are clean, well-equipped and comfortable and the whole house is furnished with great style and taste. The dining room in particular is exceptional. Food is beautifully presented and deserving of its rosettes and breakfast is... More

My wife and I spent one night here on a tour of South Devon and Cornwall. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay; extremely comfortable hotel; we were given Room 9 with a lovely balcony with panoramic sea views (an upgrade kindly offered and readily accepted when we had just reserved an "ordinary" room). The decor is certainly interesting and both entertaining... More

Lovely , luxurious hotel nestled away in a hidden Cornish bay . The décor inside and out is stylish but some inexplicable items verged on the tacky. The room was immaculate the bed excellent. The staff were professional especially Mark who made us feel very welcome after a long drive. The fine dining menu offered a lot of local produce... More

We spent a wonderful weekend (despite the heavy rain one afternoon) at this very quaint first class hotel. The views from our room were breathtaking, the decor querky and tasteful, the food excellent and the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We did not use the car once we arrived - if you are a... More

Thank you for such an in depth review. We do value all comments both positive and negative. We do not normally seat customers in our fine dining Restaurant for Brasserie lunch, however on this occasion we made an allowance for such a large party and thought you would have more space and be more comfortable in our Restaurant. We apologise... More

This was our first visit and hopefully, now we have found you it will not be our last. We rate it as the best hotel we have ever stayed in anywhere. The staff have an innate ability to make you feel welcome, the food is second to none in both the restaurant and the brasserie. Our bedroom (17) was squeaky... More
