Visited here for a nice relaxing drink. Clearly a locals onky establishment. The barmaid was disinterested and unfriendly. She got my drink completely wrong but had no intention of changing it. She turned her back on us to chat to the few locals at the bar. We left and won't return.

Please accept my apologies for your bad experience. To avoid this happening again I would appreciate you advising me roughly when and what time of day you came into the pub so I can determine which member of staff was on duty and give her more customer service training. Kind regards Stuart More

I have visited the Jolly on a number of occasions and have always been served quickly and courteously. When I am in the area I always make sure I go there on a Tuesday and a Thursday for the Folk Night and the Shanty night (Sing along, they love it). Both nights are free and there is always a good... Friendly from the start, we had room 3 at the top of the pub, 4 poster bed, which was very comfortable, large room, with lots of windows, nice biscuits provided, and chocolate, plenty of tea and coffee, also 2 bottles of water. Large ensuite. Whilst it's a pub, there was never any noise. Cereal , and full English provided. A... More

This pub is a gem for people who like a proper boozer. Great range of ciders and ales and really friendly bar staff. The atmosphere is amazing, given the history of the pub - you can imagine many a tale has been told under those rafters. Some nights there's music on and the pub is buzzing. It was fairly quiet... Our walking tour company(contours) booked us in here, odd choice since we had booked upgraded accommodation. Quaint pub, nice place to visit for a pint. No evening meals served. Our room was very basic but it was clean and the bed was comfortable. A bit noisy from the road outside and people visiting the local shop. Also noise from adjacent... More

We have just come back from two nights at the Jolly Sailor. We stayed in Room 2 which was a good-sized room with an en-suite shower room. The bed was very comfy. Absolutely no complaints about anything in the room - tea, coffee and biscuits - great. Everything very clean. The fact that the radiator could be turned on whenever... More
