We stayed in a Premier room with sea view on an unrenovated floor and found this hotel to be very pleasant and excellently located. The decor was fine and appropiate to the age of the property. There is obviously a wide variation in the standard of rooms, but perhaps this is reflected in the price and you just need to... more

myself and 7 male friends stayed at the Falmouth Hotel for my stag weekend. im in my 40s so more cliffside beers , nice meals etc , rather than being wild. the hotel as a prime location with beautiful views. i had booked 4 double sea facing rooms. The rooms were big, its a victorian hotel, but everything was tired.... more

My wife and I recently stayed at this hotel for a few days in May 2009. The hotel itself is in a fantastic location overlooking the bay, and only a few minutes walk from the beach and main shopping area and harbour. The hotel looks amazing from the outside with great grounds and views overlooking the bay. Inside however it... more

My wife and I had occasion to dine in the Trelawney Room this week. The food, service and staff were excellent and we would gladly revisit the hotel any time. more

I have now stayed at the Falmouth about 12 times and absolutely love it. Please do not expect a perfect hotel. This one is a bit outdated and shabby in places but that is definately part of its charms. When travelling to cornwall with work or pleasure i will always try and stay at the Falmouth. Location is fab, if... more

My wife and I recently stayed at this hotel for a Valentines weekend special. The hotel itself is in a fantastic location over looking the bay, and only a couple of minutes walk from the main highstreet and shopping area. My husband and I booked to stay here for our wedding anniversary in November and, despite the lovely appearance of the building, we were quite disappointed. We had booked a standard room and asked for Champagne to be waiting for us. On arrival, the reception staff were very friendly but sent us to a room that was not ready. Our... more

We were very impressed when we drove into the carpark of this grand old hotel. When we were shown to our tiny/dirty room we were less than impressed. The staff though were lovely and they changed our room to a massive suite with a sea view for no extra cost. We only had breakfast in the hotel but it seemed... more

Our first visit to Cornwall on holiday, we stayed at The Falmouth Hotel in Falmouth. A lovely 155 year old building that was very well maintained but was under refurbishment with the new owners (not that we noticed). The rooms were well kept but did need some minor repairs that didn't prove to be a problem. The staff were all... more
