After our return visit for the 5th year running we are already planning our next visit to this fantastic little Inn. Lisa and Will are the most helpful and welcoming hosts and provide their guests with a very relaxing atmosphere. Always seeking to keep their standards up, the rooms are continually being up-graded to ensure visitors enjoy their break in... More

Lovely inn, very relaxed, friendly, welcoming. Great staff, nothing is too much trouble and unfailingly helpful. The rooms are lovely, warm, spotless and many with baths, ideal after one of the many fantastic walks to be done locally. Food is good, generous,(try the cheese board for instance!) and well priced. Beers are local and well kept, a good range of... More

This was a Alistair Sawday recommend on their App which we found in the summer. We were not disappointed then and when the opportunity arose to have four days there after New Year we took it. Those addicted to smartphones will be disappointed, the majority of us will be delighted. People talk, laugh, play music and admire other peoples dogs.... More

We are no strangers to this hotel, having returned over 20 years, sometimes just to eat and drink, sometimes to stay, particularly when our boat is out of the water nearby. The rooms are spotless and comfortable, the food is of high quality and plentiful and the beers are well kept. The owners and staff are always welcoming and helpful.... More

Having had a fantastic recommendation from good friends, our expectations were fairly high from the outset, we were not disappointed. This place really is excellent.... The food....the staff...the bar....the rooms....the value for money. We stayed in room number 1 within the Inn, complete with a couple poster bed which was fabulous. There are a couple of family accommodation units in... More

After reading all the reviews I was a little sceptical, could a place be that good? The answer quite simply is YES!! Everything was spot on,the food, the cleanliness of the room, and the friendliness of all the staff. What more can I say, other than I will definitely return.

Met up with some good friends at this great traditional pub. Fantastic welcoming staff, great beer and wonderful food (a three course dinner) gave us a great weekend to remember. Many of us stayed the night and had a good nights sleep followed by a full 'Cornish' breakfast much of which is sourced locally. A good choice of wine with... More

We came across this lovely pub by accident on a damp and cold lunch time. A fire was burning and although the place was empty we were given a lovely welcome. I ordered from the lunch time menu and my husband ordered from the main board. I had mackerel ploughmans which came with homemade pickled cauliflower, and two homemade relishes.... More

Recommended by friends as a good place to stay and eat in the area and I was delighted with everything. Proper people, proper beer, proper whisky, proper food, proper wood burning stove, proper pub dog and a proper nights sleep. What more could I have asked for! I'll be back...

A tranquil setting for a lovely old traditional inn. The staff were very welcoming. The bar was bustling when we arrived for a late sunday lunch. We went for a sandwich as we were dining later and the bacon & brie in ciabatta was delicious with a dressed salad & chips it was also very filling! The room was clean... More
