Just spent 4 nights at the hotel with my wife and 2 year old son. Would struggle to recommend it to friends and family. Shouldn't be 4 star. Functional but not very child friendly, i.e. no children's play area etc. Common parts, i.e. carpets and sofas/chairs etc, need to be upgraded - all are marked/stained etc - and corridors are... more

I am disappointed to learn that you did not fully enjoy your recent stay with us as the hotel has undergone a major refurbishment programme with the Bar and Restaurant area being completed earlier this year. We are aware that some of the furniture requires upgrading and this will be completed after the busy summer season. We welcome children into...

We enjoyed a family holiday at this hotel some years ago and whilst passing again we thought it might be a nice idea to book our daughter and her husband in for a 2day break on us as a present. So we stopped for a coffee - we got a pleasant 'hullo' from the receptionist and went out onto the... more

I am sat in the hotel 2/07/10 about to leave amid noise of major refurbishments of the hotel resturant, with hammering, electric saws etc etc. We were not warned of this prior to our stay. It looks like the work will be going on for the weekend. The electric keeps going off too. So if your looking for a relaxiing... more

We always aim to exceed guests expectations and are sorry that we fell short on this occasion. The spa facilities had to be closed at short notice for essential maintenance which was unfortunately out of our control. We had planned minor adjustments to be made to the restaurant which unexpectedly became major works which we endeavoured to complete as soon...

We stayed on a 2-night spa break with Dinner B&B. Delighted with the pampering in the spa, the quality of the food and the friendly, helpful staff. The hotel gardens are glorious,as is the sea view from the dining room. Swimming Pool/sauna/steam room/jacuzzi for all guests (and a gym which we didn't use, too much like hard work!) Only a... more

May 18, 2010 | Trip type: Family

Have just spent two nights here with my husband and 10 year old son and was very disappointed. The hotel is in a great position next to a lovely beach and cafe. Our family room was a good size but carpet was filthy and could only get two channels on tv. Soundproofing obviously an issue as well. The whole hotel... more

Friendly staff - nothing was a problem. Great food - breakfast and evening meals. Fantastic locus - for Falmouth beaches and Cornwall. We got a good price - but difficult to fault even at full tariff. more

Usually stay here for business, but have been dying to bring the other half. As usual an absolutely amazing stay, it's like coming home! From the lovely receptionists that always remember me, to the great dinner in the evening. This hotel is like a breath of fresh air compared to the usual standard I've experienced in Cornwall. Like most things... more

I stayed at the St. Michael's twice, for 3 days each time, in January 2010. Firstly, it was probably the nicest hotel I've stayed in in Cornwall - and that's out of a lot of hotels. Secondly, the rate was fantastic. £35 / £40 for a Cabin Room. The decor of the hotel is lovely, staff friendly but not intrusive,... more

We stayed as a group of friends and were really impressed overall. You can see that a redevelopment is still underway but being dealt with very well. Arrived on 16th in the afternoon to be greeted by the most helpful receptionist ever. She deserved an award! The first night was not so good being out in a room with a... more
