My partner and I stayed at the end of October for a night out in Chester; we had a private ensuite double room for £42 which is a good price for central Chester on a Saturday night. The staff were very friendly and the room was clean and tidy. The kitchen area was also clean and there was coffee, tea, milk... More

Was reluctant to book here cos of bad reviews but first impressions on arrival were good. Looked a cool place, welcoming, good location etc. Room clean and comfy with nice shower (bathroom needs a bathmat though as water gathers in middle of floor). New manager friendly and trying hard to get a better reputation for the place. had a great... More

I'd made a reservation and this was confirmed by email but when I arrived there was no record of this, luckily there was a bed available. The staff were relaxed (possibly too relaxed!) friendly and helpful and there was a secure place to lock up my bike. There were an lot of bunks crammed into a small space in the... More

Chester Backpackers was a great hostel. A nice old building within walking distance to central Chester. The staff were friendly and helpful and they had secure storage for our bikes. We had a private twin room and it was very comfy - ensuite with clean bathroom and tea and coffee making facilities which was a nice touch. There was a... More

Booked for one night stay with mates.. Horrific is the best way to describe the experience! Rooms stink, toilets dirty, beds disgusting. Worse than the hovel of a hostel was the staff...rude and of ignorant. Don't think we'll return!

I paid £25 for private use of a twin bedded room with ensuite facilities (with no breakfast) which is fair value for a room reasonably close to the city centre, the canal, the river and the city walls. The room itself was OK - nothing special but clean. The bathroom was OK - on the small side with a tiny... More

Stayed here on Saturday night with my boyfriend for one night. We wanted a cheap bed to stay in so we could have a few drinks and enjoy the night. Room was £45 for a double with ensuite - a real bargain for Chester city centre in June! Found free parking by the river Dee as we arrived at around... More
