Great pub, always very busy. They do great deals on shots. Lager and cider is a little more expensive than the weather spoons directly opposite. Don't let that put you off though. Give it a try, you'll not leave disappointed

Came in for a couple of drinks after a meal elsewhere. Nice looking old pub with character and history. Good selection of ales. Prices average for chester but food prices looked reasonable. From the plates brought out to other diners, you seem to get plenty.

Came here for a 2 night experience of an old inn in chester (an historic city) and was so let down we left the next day! We even booked one of their better rooms and couldnt believe the bed! It squeeked at the slightest touch and when you got on it it felt like you were going to fall through... More

Stayed here during a business stay with my partner and baby. The building is beautiful and when you are staying in a place like Chester it would be sacrilege to stay in a new build. As we had read on previous reviews, that staff are absolutely spot on. All young and vibrant but appear to really care about the place... More

Both me and my wife stayed for one night at the inn two weeks ago. The accommodation is great for the value of money and just what you want for visiting a busy city centre location. The parking and breakfast charges are more than acceptable as is the price of ale and breakfast itself. The pub is supposed to be... More

We stopped here for lunch, myself and my daughter (aged 5). The staff were great and we were served quickly. Good choice for kids, slightly limited on options for vegetarians however but the sandwiches were tasty. Great old fashioned pub with beautiful beams and panelling, child friendly and they have a great ladies toilet! Makes you feel like you are... More

We stayed here for two nights last weekend and we had the time of our lives. As soon as we entered the place, tired after a very long drive from Newcastle, we were greeted by the lovely staff who showed us to our room (room 2) which was at the front of the building . Yes it was noisy from... More

This inn dates back to 1622 and as you would expect has all the beams and features of a building from that period. The inn was in a good position in Chester, close to the river and medieval wall. Our room was on the small side but had all the facilities you would expect. However, the TV wasn't working and one... More
