The hotel had everything we needed, was comfortable, great location for the zoo and city and has a Toby Carvery next door - the food was lovely there and service was good. The hotel is due a refurbishment, the décor is generally tired although we saw everything in good repair. The staff were helpful and we would stay here again.

Enjoyed a one night stay at this travelodge after previously staying at Chester Central. This was a more traditional Travelodge with a cosy room and very comfortable bed.Next to a Toby carvery providing good food and drink.

Don't bank on getting much sleep if you are ground floor, near the trees. Thin windows mean the April dawn chorus wakes you, even with the windows closed. Walls are thin and people talking in the corridors also woke me. Have stayed in Travelodges many times. Wouldn't return to this one.

We are all aware about what to expect from a Travelodge stay. This hotel has though a plus constituted by the size and the furniture of the rooms and a wide free parking. To me, they looked above the average level of a Travelodge. Unortunately (minus) a bar/cafeteria/restaurant within the hotel, would be greatly appreciated. There's a close Toby Carvery,... More

Rooms were a good price to stay for the night and only a short drive into Chester. However light fitting didn't work, lots of dust behind beside table when I plugged my phone charger into the socket behind there and the room generally desperately needs decorating. The hotel looks very run down. In the Toby Cavery restaurant next door we... More

We booked some time ago so had excellent rates. I was quite worried by the negative reviews but need not have been. Yes, it is an old Travelodge but due to be refurbished soon. Our room was clean and tidy. Very little noise. Staff very helpful . I read a review where they said they had to drive into Chester... More

Booked a room at Travelodge because we knew there was a Toby Carvery next door and it was on our route of travel from Wales to Manchester. Very pleasant stay, room was a little older but very clean and quite. The Toby Carvery was connected to the motel so didn't have to walk outside in the weather to eat. had... More

Wanted somewhere cheap as did not expect to be in hotel during day. Room much better than I exoected, clean, warm and quiet. Bed very comfortable. No one bothered us, which I like. Very, very good value.
