This was an Innkeeper's Lodge offer of 3 nights for the price of 2, exclusively at the weekend. Our first experience at Durham was good, but this Toby Carvery was lacking in certain areas of domestic hygiene. Dust and debris on every ledge, including the dining room was not anticipated. Public passageways were spoilt by grubby doorways, and stairway. Cobwebs... more

I booked this hotel firstly because it was rated within the top 10 on trip advisors list of hotels in Chester. Location was ok, not far from the M54 with a good but expensive bus route just outside the hotel. First impression of the hotel/Toby Pub was very typical although it looked it’s age. We arrived at 12.40 and were... more

My husband and I stayed here for 1 night. The night before we had stayed in a more expensive, upmarket hotel and were no less pleased with our stay here (in fact my husband liked this one better). We paid £29.95 for the room on the internet and it was well worth the money. A clean & comfortable room with... more

We have just returned from a 3 night stay here and came away very impressed with the hotel and all the staff. We have stayed in several hotels in this chain and have always been impressed with the standards of comfort, cleanliness and quality in the chain and this was no different but what made it even more enjoyable was the... more

Stayed here with my daughter while we went to look at Chester University. Very clean, quiet room, polite staff, and a more-than-adequate continental breakfast. Nothing much to criticise: would have had five stars for cleanliness if it hadn't been for the key & fob being very sticky (dripped on by the Coke tap in the bar, apparently) and needing a... more
