I was very disappointed with our room. It was small and dark. There wasn't a warm feeling when walking in. The bathroom was tiny and the shower was cold. However the bed was very comfy and the TV in the room was nice. Breakfast was average. Nothing special. Very basic. The spa on site was perfect. It was lovely and... More

As per other reviews hotel ongoing improvements which obviously has to be taken into account However thought the room was basic but acceptable however bathroom left a lot to be desired Shower a trickle loo seat would not stay up and very little space for loo meaning that the gentleman that I was rooming with found it impossible to use!... Visited this establishment recently, nicely appointed dining area, construction work to main entrance, looked nice enough. Led through to the narrow boat dining area and seated. As the boat was being prepared for the excursion and meal my friend decided to have a quick nicotine fix as the trip was going to last 2 hours with no smoking on board.... More

We spent Friday and Saturday night here in room 522, the room was excellent it had a jacuzzi bath in the en suite, outside terrace that you can actually sit in and a large room with a king sized bed and seating area, we Ange and Kev would stay in this room again, the staff at the hotel are very... We recently had a family stay at this hotel (16 of us from the age of 10 to 80). The hotel staff were welcoming, helpful and very friendly - always there when you needed them. We ate at the hotel every day and even had a set meal in the restaurant. The food was always freshly prepared and tasty. My... More

I wish I could have given this hotel a higher rating because fundamentally we had a good stay and we would return but there were too many niggles. All the staff were very good, the gentleman on reception was particularly polite and efficient. Our room appeared spacious, well decorated and overlooked the canal but surprisingly it had no air conditioning.... More

We were a large group from Prenton, Birkenhead. Over 40 of us. We were looked after very well from start to finish. It was a lunchtime trip to Chester, booked in advance. Lovely food was served upon well presented tableware, aboard the barge which was adjacent to the hotel. The lunch was three courses, with a good choice and very well... More

Nice hotel situated near the canal, rooms were quite pleasant, with the added bonus of a bar that sells excellent Real Ales. Didn't have the breakfast so can't comment. Hotel situated a short walk to Chester city centre. All in all a decent stay.

This hotel would have got 5 stars off me, comfortable bed, nice room (245) The only thing missing was the Wi-Fi. It is important to us as we like to play games on the Ipad in our room. So as it was advertised we thought great stuff. unfortunately we where unable to get a signal. Eventually we where told by... More
