Near centre of town, little cramped for parking, though to be fair there did seem to be some building work going on. Reception was friendly enough, but do not like paying on arrival for room especially, as often the case, if you then eat on the premises it causes confusion when checking out and wanting a bill for the total... Nice staff but breakfast below standard unless you order the nice smoked haddock or kippers with scrambled eggs and mushrooms.; all have to be ordered. Rooms small but acceptable. Prices are just a bit too high to justify location

I rarely write a poor review but I couldn't think of anything that would move this hotel experience to a satisfactory status. I had wanted to stay here for a while whilst visiting our son at University, having passed it on many occassions. On arrival, the hotel has a less than attractive kerbside appeal and the reception smelled of stale... More

Staff very friendly and polite. Good size room, comfy bed slept well, shower was better than some hotel showers. . Used the pool every morning and had a spa treatment. Cabaret in the restaurant on the Friday was enjoyable very busy so make sure you book. My only complaint the menu is a little dated especially the dessert menu. But... More

Stayed here for 2 nights after looking for a hotel in Chester with a spa included. On arrival, parking was no issue with plenty of free parking spaces allocated to the hotel outside. The hotel is situated on the canal and within 10 minute walk to the Cathedral. We were greeted with a smile and given keys to our 4th... More

This is our third visit to this hotel and I am pleased to say that the high standards have been maintained. Clean comfortable rooms, pleasant staff throughout and good food at very reasonable prices. Great location, only a pleasant 5 min stroll along the canal to the city centre.

Stayed for a weekend in February with my boyfriend. The hotel itself is beautiful, big, has friendly staff, and nice bar and restaurant. The rooms are huge! We stayed in a standard room, it wasn't overly modern but it was unbelievably clean and spacious. We were situated over the bridge so it was quiet and easy to walk by the... More

the hotel is in a great location to easily explore Chester on foot. Sadly the property is next to a council estate and very run down warehouses and has zero street appeal. We were put into a room in the south extension, which is 2 metres from the roadway of the Chester flyover so the continuous traffic noise and sirens... More
