We recently spent one night at this guest house as we were going to the Races. The location is excellent as it's only a 5-10 minutes walk to the racecourse and centre. The hosts were wonderful and had thought of everything to make your stay enjoyable. The house was immaculate and very warm and welcoming. The bedroom was lovely with... More

We stayed with Helen and Colin for 3 nights. The other excellent reviews say all that we would say - nice on-site parking; beautiful, spotless rooms; free wi-fi; lovely walk to town centre; excellent breakfasts; no charge for paying by credit card; and friendly, helpful hosts. Simply stated, everything about this guesthouse is of the highest quality - everything. By... More

We stayed for one night in May '15. The house and the hosts were absolutely charming. The attention to detail was second to none. The room was spotless, my boyfriend said it's the cleanest b&b he'd ever stayed and that's saying something as he has borderline ocd! Tea and biscuits served on arrival and an interesting chat about Chester was... More

Attention to detail. Warm and welcoming. Superb rooms and bathrooms. Breakfast is the very best local sourced food. The most outstanding gold bed and breakfast we have stayed at. There is a lovely scenic walk past the race course into town.

My wife and I stopped at Mitchell's for one night for a regular visit to Chester, and I must say it was probably one of the best hotel/guest houses we have ever stayed in, and that includes some top hotels. To start with, Mitchell's is located about 1 mile out of Chester centre, which is easily walkable through some of... More

This place is better than some of the 4 star hotels in the UK Upon arrival we are greeted with a coffee or tea And given the local run down of the area There is a well stocked honesty bar with really good prices With spirits available The rooms are fantastic, there has been a lot of effort into making... Mitchell's is a very welcoming B&b in a delightful old house on the edge of Chester - cosy rooms and delicious breakfasts make for a relaxing stay. Access to the city is easy, and the ring road passes very close making travel around the area also very simple. A superb Tandoori in Saltney, 10 minutes walk away, is also worthy... More

Stayed 1 night in March and was met by Helen who showed us to our room which was spotlessly clean with a great big shower. We then went down stairs and again met by Helen who had made tea/coffee with biscuits and then given a map of Chester along with a brief chat about some of the attractions and history... More

Had a lovely overnight stay at Mitchell's of Chester, greeted with a cuppa and biscuits which went down a treat. Great hosts spotlessly clean, fab room and great breakfast and a little gift to go home with cannot ask for more. Will definitely book again but for more than 1 night.

As a company we regularly use bed and breakfast in Chester but sadly our usual B & B closed due to the death of the owner. After choosing another B & B on the same road as Mitchell's and being bitterly disappointed with every aspect of the accommodation we opted for Mitchell's. Fabulous! From the minute that you arrive the... More

Thank you for your comments. You stayed in rooms that we do not advertise as their size/location do not reach the standard of our 5-Star Gold Award rooms, but we try to keep them comfortable. More
