I've visited the Albion in Park Street over the past years. Once inside you are taken back a hundred years ago: through the photographs on the walls of soldiers, munition factory workers, old shop signs and even flying ducks on the wall in the Ladies. Recently we sojourned to this quaint pub: which warned us before we went inside that... More

We stayed here last weekend for 2 nights and we loved every minute, the landlady couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. The room was spotless with a lovely comfy bed. We had a meal on the Saturday night and it was beautiful, good, honest home cooked food, which is very rare in this day and age. We will definitely... More

Stayhed here for 2 nights in May and absolutely loved it! Loved the pub with all the memorabilia, and the beer was pretty good too! The room was lovely, really clean and a very comfy bed. Stayed for dinner 1 night and it was absolutely delicious - makes a change to have a nice home cooked meal, and the complimentary... More

We stumbled across The Albion by chance, next to the city walls near the Roman Garden. What a find! Opens lunchtime and evening. Good beers with friendly service. They let us have lunch even though they were just finishing service. The pub is full of WW1 and more memorabilia. We were the last out at closing time, but did not... More

Enjoyed some beef stew and oatcakes washed down with real ales.Really lovely ambience in this characterful hostelry just inside the city walls. Homemade food and wellkept beers make this a pub people will return to.

My partner and I stayed for 3 nights over the weekend for a long weekend. Having visited the Albion a couple of times previously for drinks and food, we thought we ought to try its accommodation and weren't disappointed in the least. As has been said in previous reviews, the pub is decorated in period 1st World War to some... More

What a great place! Stayed for 2 nights last week and it could not have been better. The wife is always wary of pub b&b but this is a real exception. Detailed attention to comfort and cleanliness, a great breakfast and a wide menu (no chips but many traditional dishes) for the evening meal if you want it. Ideal location... More

A handy location inside the wall with easy parking. Only 2 comfortable rooms. A great collection of wartime memorabilia which hostess Christina will proudly describe the history and origins of individual pieces if you show interest.

The Albion was a find, as it was on the end of a residential street. Inside we found a warm welcome. It's an old fashioned pub with a friendly atmosphere. Well recommended. Make an effort to look for this one and you won't be disappointed.

We visited the Albion on the recommendation from Recorder house where we were staying. And were pre warned that the landlord was prone to grumpiness ! The pub it's self is set on the corner of a row of terrace houses and could easily be missed . We visited the pub on the Saturday afternoon for a few drinks and... More
