Stopped at this pub for lunch recently as I was in the area with colleagues on a training course. The menu had a reasonable vegetarian choice and the meal was lovely, would definitely visit more if I was local to it.

I asked in my booking instructions for the sofa bed to be made up but this wasn't done not even after asking the reception/bar person. It meant we had to share a bed and my partner likes a double bed to herself.
Apart from Sue in the restaurant who was excellent, the rest of the staff looked miserable and really...

Checked in Sunday to be given an annex room on the ground floor - wasn't happy about that as ground floor and on the corner - however thought we'd make the most of what we had. Room was tiny - wardrobe in the way and everytime you went to bathroom had to squeeze past - number of time I knocked...

We have just had dinner at the Cheshire Cat Christleton and I was appalled at the meal we had.
Admittedly when we arrived and the full menu was not available it was not a good sign. The food had obviously been made some hours before and been sitting waiting for a buyer!! I can't belive we had just spent our...

Oh dear. Why do they make the same mistake again. Booked an outside room and rang the lodge to confirm before booking - it was even written in the lodge diary - must have an outside room - and, for the second time were refused one. My partner and I stayed here for one night and had a very enjoyable experience. All of the staff we met were polite and courteous including the woman that checked us in, the waiter in the restaurant and the women on breakfast duty. The room was spacious enough (rm 5) with a bathroom just across a small landing - don't...

This was one of the advance rate bookings @ £21. We should have known better, that we would be put in the worst room in the place.
In the annex room 9. Small narrow room with the desk in the hallway to the room. Wardrobe blocking the archway, with 2/3rds of the access cut off into the bedroom area (see...

The bedroom was fairly spacious and had everything you could possibly need for a short break. The pub is set in a lovely setting, with a large outdoor eating/drinking area overlooking pleasant gardens and a canal.Breakfast...

Have stayed here on 4 occasions now and have been impressed every time. The only small snag is the fact that it is attached to a very busy pub and it can get difficult to check in at busy times but the staff are excellent and the rooms are very clean and comfortable,There are also rooms in the converted stable...
