Myself & my husband spent I night at the pied bull and wish we could have stayed longer. If you want a generic room with all mod cons stay in a brand hotel. The pied bull is charming and quirky, the staff are incredibly friendly and the hotel is situated in a perfect position, close to all chester has to... More

This is an Old Coaching Inn offering a fine range of ales near to Chester 's main shopping areas and local attractions such as the Cathedral and City Walls. We were given room 4 which can only be described as a small unpleasant room at the rear of the building. The bathroom had not been cleaned (or even toilet flushed)... More

stayed here for 1 night as part of a 'girls' shopping weekend', on arrival a very friendly Luke sorted our rooms & then kindly booked us a table at an excellent italian that he knew of. He offered to carry our bags to our rooms as well ! Excellent breakfast, hot and tasty & staff very obliging & friendly. Bedrooms... More

Booked 2 rooms direct with staff, spoke to very friendly chap called Luke who said after taking the booking if he could help any further just to let him know. We could only stay 1 night with our friends who were over from Australia which was very disappointing as we were then on our way to Wrexham. On arrival staff... More

I first visited Chester about 10 years ago on business & was so impressed that I promised to bring my wife to see it - and here we are. Chose The Pied Bull as it looked to be close to all the historic buildings & so it was. Lots of ancient black & white buildings just a short stroll away... More

We stayed one night in Room 2. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable but the decor was rather dated and the furniture was a strange mix; a modern metal frame bed, honey pine wardrobe, dressing table and bedside tables,'modern' metal artwork on wall and modern lighting. The bathroom was clean but very 'tired'. Breakfast was delicious. We... More

Very comfortable room. We had room 3 with the four poster bed. Breakfast very basic. Not a lot of choice. No fruit or yogurts available. Micro Brewery very interesting. Just had to ask to have a look at it. Had dinner two nights that we were here. The food was excellent.

Stayed on a Friday night with teen daughter for uni visit. I chose it for the central location & microbrewery. Good points - character, cleanliness, location & friendly staff. Beer was lovely & hoppy. Less than good - overpriced due to very below standard decor & greasy breakfast: - no covers on mattress & pillows - just sheet/pillowcase. Probably less... More

We stayed for 1 night in the Pied Bull Room 10. The decor is very tired and i am aware that the Hotel /Inn is over 400 years old however i think our furniture was also from that period as the wardrobe was falling apart.. The Staff were hit and miss as regard customer service. we arrived early and were... More
