I had booked a twin room and got a double, so had to share a bed with my friend. The room was tiny and cold. The bed had no springs and the bathroom had a VERY mould shower curtain. You have to check out at 10am and if you're still eating breakfast at 9.30, you are asked to leave the... more

Booked the Pied Bull Inn for 2 nights for the premier suite and a twin room. We were over for the graduation in chester cathedral and the Pied Bull was an excellent place to stay. It wasan 8 minute walk to the Northgate Arena where the graduands collect their robes and a 5 minute walk to the cathedral. The location... more

We have just returned from our stay in the Pied Bull in Chester...and we can honestly say we had a fab time. Our first night was halloween, and what a better place to stay than a "Haunted" pub. The halloween theme was great. Plenty of fancy dress, and a good atmosphere. The pub was about 5 mins from the town... more

My husband and I have just got back home after two nights in the Pied Bull and think most of the reviews are unfair! Do the people who have written bad reviews realise several things... 1. The building was built in the 1100's! if you want shiny and modern straight floors and to know exactly what you will get the... more

If you go to the Pied Bull check that you do not have the room looking onto the area (laughingly called the car park) at the back of the Hotel. The air conditioner/cooler (or something loud) was on all night - It was so loud that you could not sleep. Fortunately we were only there for one night. In the... more

my wife had a fancy! to spend a couple of nights in a haunted inn. hence the visit to the "reputedly haunted"pied bull. £130 (up front -by demand) seemed quite reasonable!! not a good choice! i did not expect much from this grotty establishment - nor did i get it! had to wait an extra two hours - for the... more

Luckily I did not stay here but unfortunately my boyfriend and I did have a meal. It was possibly the worst meal of my life. I ordered the ribs for £9 and he ordered homemade pie of the day for about £6. The pie may of been 'home-made' - at the chippy round the corner and was drenched in gravy.... more

Me and a friend stayed at the Pied Bull on a recomendation from a family member because its very close to where they live. Location wise you really cant get much better, slap bang in the middle of things, perfect. But the hotel needs a bit of money spending on it, which is probably why the place is so cheap... more

We first stayed in this hotel when it was part of a chain and that was approximately 10 years ago. It was a really nice hotel then but now it is in dire need of a refurb. It could be a great hotel because it is so handy for the shops etc. Would be willing to pay more if it... more

Oh dear, what can I say, potentially full of the charms of an olde worlde establishment but ruined by bed bugs and noisy slamming doors all morning long. We arrived lateish the night before (8.15 pm) and were told, in no uncertain terms, that a late night cap for residents was not available after 11.00 pm. We were also told... more
