I booked the premier suite for our silver wedding anniversary, what we found on arrival was a warm welcome from the staff. The suite was quirky, creaky floor boards, clean and decorated as you would imagine a room to be in the oldest pub in Chester. Location was ideal for walking to the bars and restaurants in the evening hence... More

Stayed in room #7 which was larger than most of our parties rooms. The room was extremely dated in its decor and featured twin beds of low quality steel tube design. If the theme was supposed to be in keeping with the age of the hotel/pub, the beds were out of place. Sleep was almost impossible due to external noise... More

Stopped at the pied bull 29th August we were very disappionted with our room.We walked into our room and we were greeted by wood chip wallpaper and rickety bed with dated furniture. The staff were welcoming but never asked how our room was and how our stay was.I must say the breakfast was very nice and was to a good standard.Over... The staff were friendly, especially Selle, the breakfast was good, but bedroom (no4) was a let down, due to noise from below/outside (?), despite it being at the back Pub itself was not the problem. We changed rooms late on which was better, although a twin. We appreciate it is an old building but needs a little more tlc to... More

Hotel location bang on nice feel to it as you walked in, staff pleasant and helpful, close to all attractions, but no on site parking which is a shame. We had room No. 3 which has the four poster bed, loads of space. not much of a view (as it was to the rear of the building) but it was nice... More

We stayed there with some friends for 1 night to celebrate a 40th birthday. Our friends had booked 2 rooms, 1 double and 1 deluxe with 4 poster. The room with the 4 poster was for them and the double for us. On arrival we had to pay in advance at a cost of £100 per night including breakfast. Immediately... More

We are sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your stay at The Pied Bull. We do operate three different price scales for premier suite, 4 poster & double/twin. The 4 poster room would normally sell for a additional £20 to that of a standard double/twin room. On this particular night there was a deal were the 4 poster... More

What a pleasure to arrive at the Pied Bull and to find such an olde worlde pub. So warm when we arrived. good atmosphere as was the food. Steak and ale pie a bit watery. Bit disappointed not given a tour of the micro brewery by the Brewer himself. Ricketty stairs and floors, but room comfortable but basic. What a... More

Had a 2 night stay in August 2014. Very quaint and cosy! The location is great as it is only minutes walk to the attractions bars and restaurants in Chester . We had room 12 which was certainly big enough and was very clean but basic. The floor was on a bit of a slant but was all part of... More

We were singing at the cathedral and chose this place to stay as it was within easy walking distance. The staff are very helpful and beer is brewed in the cellar. Our room was on the first floor and right at the end so we did not hear a lot of noise. It was small for two but we weren't... More
