We booked to stay in the tree house and it was wonderful! The food was out of this world and the hotel quirky and fun! Mr Frogg is eccentric and talented! Seriously would recommend this place :) parking is ample and it's close the Chester if you want to mix in some sight seeing! If I had to be critical... More

After reading the reviews and visiting this place it strikes me as a sort of marmite hotel the people either love or hate. Personally for me it was cluttered, dirty and had far to much personal taste. It was sort of close to standing with an eccentric, hoarding friend with autism. This man should not be in the service industry... More

Frog manor has a wonderful sign as you drive down the sweeping driveway 'welcome to the normal, leave the made world behind'. The house is covered as one would expect in frogs! Any shape and medium, they are everywhere. The bedrooms are all individual and are fitted with the very best mattresses and linen. I loved the huge bath we... More

Complete dump. Dirty, tired and out dated. Wouldn't like to guess when a hoover was last used. Totally over priced. Breakfast consisted off cereal and toast. Was asked to order what cereal you wanted the day before. I have never chewed cornflakes before- dread to think how old they were. Can only have cooked breakfast at a weekend. Evening meal... More

In our quest to sample the best that Frogg Manor has to offer, we were back, this time to celebrate my other half's birthday in the Wellington Suite. We weren't disappointed, from the beautiful canopied bed in the centre of the huge room, a separate dressing room with champagne on ice and the luxury of a huge bath, plus a... More

I think there are a few people giving frogg a bit of a hard time here, the food when I was there is good, the rooms when I was there very nice, but like many hotels currently need their clientele to return . Maybe it's such that frogg has to pull up his socks a bit , but that is... More

Eccentricity at its English best Never will you find another hotel who's menu is in guineas, a proprietor as eccentric or rooms that are as British An unusual place that you need to understand and you can only do that by staying

Myself and 6 others booked a table for a friends 50th. 3 of the party arrived on time whilst myself driving a car full had a puncture about 5 miles from the restaurant. 20 minutes later the chef Tom and a friend arrived to save us! They took us to the restaurant, Tom cooked all our meals then went back... More

Young couple booked in for a night in the treehouse - magical! The place came highly recommended and our stay definitely went beyond our expectations!! On arrival keep an open mind, enjoy the sounds of the 30s in the elegant nostalgic atmosphere and patiently await the warm hospitality to secretly unravel in John. Thoughtful touches throughout our stay really made... More

I, too, thought "OMG" on entering the hall and being greeted by the owner. We were shown to a lovely warm and comfortable bedroom (Mountbatten room). It was clean and the ensuite had a more than adequate number of thick fluffy towels, the water was piping hot. As I thawed through my opinion thawed too; it wasn't bad at all.... More
