A hotel and restaurant with a difference yet remaining quintessentially English. 8 en-suite bedrooms including an en-suite room in a garden tree for pure romance. A restaurant with a gourmet menu, utilizing locally sourced beef, lamb & chicken. Fresh fish daily. Food preparation sympathetic to food intolerance. A relaxed atmosphere with music from the 1930's -1940's. This is truly a fantasy dream world. more » « less

We enjoy quirky and 'something a bit different', so it was with enthusiastic anticipation that we decided to spend a night at Frogg Manor. Never again. Other reviews have testified to the lack of cleanliness in the place and we cannot disagree. Some of the carpets were filthy and I doubt would pass inspection by an environmental health officer. It... more

We did not stay at Frogg Manor, we just spent the evening there having a meal in the restaurant. There were four of us having a celebration meal which we had been looking forward to for a while, and Frogg Manor did not live up to even our lowest expectations. The place was generally dirty (not shabby chic) with crumbs... more

Our party had taken over the hotel for a wedding which took place in the grounds and I was lucky enough to be one of the few who were able to stay a Frogg Manor. Having heard so much about it from the bride & groom I wasn't sure what to expect!! On arrival you wonder where you have landed... more

We stayed over Christmas in a large family group. This hotel is ideal if you want a quiet break or want to have a bigger group stay. When we read the reviews before we went we noted that there were many saying "fantastic" and others saying "awful". It's rare to see such extreme views. We were particulalrly concerned about reviews... more

My friend recommended Frogg Manor to me as a possible destination for my husbands birthday surprise. Julie and her husband Carl (Hayes) have been to your home many times before. They are fanatical about good food and wine...whereas we are not. They live in a rural part of Chester...we do not. They are a litttle younger than us, newly married,... more

Frogg Manor provides an eccentric escape from the realities of everyday life. Set in the heart of the Cheshire countryside within walking distance of the Sandstone Trail, it is a country house furnished in style and run by the 'Chief Frog', John Sykes. We have stayed at Frogg Manor for several years, choosing the Wellington suite, as our children could... more

The hotels website describes this place as unique and it's not lying! It's a fantastic hidden gem of English ecentricity. If you like your hotels super modern then this is not the place for you - the best way I can describe it is that it's somewhat like staying in an Hercule Poirot story. The rooms are comfortable, the welcome... more

Stayed one night at Frogg Manor and it has to be the worst experience I have ever had in a hotel. Starting from the moment I entered the hotel (late afternoon) the reception was full of rubbish (not just clutter), old bedding for washing was left on the landing. The smell of stale smoke (bearing in mind the smoking ban... more

As Chief Frogg, and owner of Frogg Manor I would like to respond to this particular review. I make no apologies for the comment "rude and abrupt". As a Yorkshire man I tend to be direct and straight talking, some celebratory Yorkshire men have also been accused of rudeness for the same. With regards breakfast this party had been granted...

Had a fantastic one night stay, booked last minute. Upon arrival at the hotel you do wonder where you have landed, however this feeling of confusion is quickly replaced by one of wonder. We Stayed in the Churchill room which had an enormous bathroom, complete with bath built for 2. There are some unusual touches in the room, one being... more

Stayed in the Nelson room in early July when we visited Chester for the races. Yet again a fantastic stay, with bags of charachter, and lovely personal touches (for example the drawers in the bathroom are full of all the little things that you forget! - and all complimentary). Dinner in the restaurant was again first class (the wine waiter... more
