Stayed here just overnight whilst visiting family. Everything immaculate and spotless and would highly recommend anyone to stay. The house is full of character and history and would have loved to have been able to have an evening meal there. The excellent homemade shortbread in the bedroom was a nice touch.

We stayed here recently whilst visiting Carfest in Tarporley. The hosts were very kind and helpful - the breakfasts good and very clean throughout. Bedroom lovely. Beds very comfortable. Only drawback was the beams (as pointed out on Tripadvisor by another customer are so low my hubby kept banging his head!) and wouldnt say the hotel is particularly aimed at... More

The hotel is in keeping with its magnificent rural setting. The staircase is made from timbers salvaged from the Spanish Armada fleet. Our room at the top of the house was perfect with views over the surrounding countryside and low beams giving the room added character. Our host Pauline was very helpful with directions and suggestions on where to go... More

Just as good as last time. Pauline and Jeremy are excellent hosts at their wonderful house. Advice was requested as to the best way to visit Chester. The park and ride was suggested and found to be an excellent way to visit the city. Great quiet room with superb breakfasts and lovely garden to relax in.

I stayed for three nights in June 2014 and the owner Pauline couldn't have been more friendly & accommodating. The hotel is in a quiet rural setting, but only a few minutes' drive from the main road (A49) and was perfectly placed for my visit to nearby Oulton Park race circuit. My room was small but perfectly formed, with a... More

A beautiful peaceful place to stay where nothing was too much trouble. We stayed for one night and the owner Jeremy actually took us into the next village to the Sportsman for a meal and picked us up again as we couldn't get a taxi as too expensive! Beautiful rooms and lovely food. Thank you to the owners for their... More

We made a very late booking for this accommodation. It is a short drive out of Chester in a rural location. On site parking was good. The owner is a lovely, welcoming lady and she greeted us warmly. She gave us plenty of information about nearby places to eat (we ate in the nearest pub and the food was very... More

Me and my partner stayed here for one night as a nice valentines weekend away! We thought the service was immacaulate and the building was very well presented!! We were made to feel very welcome and on entry my bag was carried and we were shown to our room and we were made to feel very at home! We would... More

Myself and my Husband stayed for 2 nights, could not fault it, we were greeted on arrival and shown to our room which was lovely. There was a fantastic roaring fire in the sitting area, so very cosy. Lovely countryside surrounds it. The breakfast was very good. The owners are very helpful and friendly. If you are in the area... More

After two failed bookings with other hotels, we booked into this hotel. I called to confirm my online booking was successful, and spoke at length with the lady who answered, about the reason for our booking, and whether she could provide any information, or book any restaurants on our behalf. The hotel was quiet, the room very clean with the... More
