Had a family get-together here. Absolutely dreadful. The only redeeming thing I can mention is that the (newly appointed) chef was profusely apologetic for the mess up which front desk had created in not informing him of our booking. He did not have enough food on our first night to give us proper meals so he arranged the following night... more

A really well situated city centre hotel. Rooms very clean, especially the bathroom, and well equipped. Very good breakfast with the full English part freshly cooked to order. Breakfast staff very efficient and friendly and room service when extras requested was excellent. Bed nice and firm and hotel room quiet and comfortable - highly recommended. Only negatives were that newspaper... more

This is such an average hotel. The rooms are OK, the service is OK, the value is OK. Reception was decidedly dusty. The stair rails and bannisters badly need polishing. Breakfast was disappointing. Lots of stairs and corridors to reach your room and the lift is miniscule. In summary do not expect to be excited by this hotel. Its a... more

The hotel's location is great, just in the middle of the pretty Chester's centre. the reception hall is nice and impressive, the receptionist was kind. It should be however noted a couple of things, which would be normal for this kind of category hotel. First, they could not provide UK visitor's plug. They sent me to the Tesco to buy... more

Stayed here in Sept 2009 for one night. Stayed on a DBB basis and had room service. I was in a room which was large and kitted out as a disabled room. No air con so it was windows open. Noise noise noise so it was windows shut again! TV had Sky etc but you had to pay extra if... more

I stayed for four nights. The first night cost about £140 - not cheap and def not worth it. The twin room was very small. I had to ask for the room to be cleaned on the second day. On the third day, the room was half done. No vacuuming, no clean towels, one bin emptied (!). At about 4pm... more

Coming from Oxford I associate McDonald hotels with 'The Randolph' (a luxury hotel and spa in Oxford City Centre). So my expectations where high, and given the new blossom hotel is 4* I expected a good nights stay. However what we got was anything but. The stay started with more of an annoyance than anything else: We drove into Chester... more

Good service from the staff, lovely breakfast. As others have stated very hot in the bedrooms but we had requested a fan before arriving and there was one provided for each room. The only down side was that a little more attention could be made whilst cleaning the rooms, not a major problem, a little dusty and 2 items in... more

My wife and I stayed here on Saturday night 8 August. We found the hotel to be really nice. Our room was to the front overlooking the town centre, but we had no problem with noise. Room was great (we were upgraded) and very well furnished. We didn't dine at the hotel, but breakfast the next day was superb. The... more
