I have been very disappointed with a recent visit to The Pheasant Inn in Burwardsley. Some of the staff and in particularly a new foreign waiter they have working there have poor manners and would prefer to be admiring the view and chatting rather than paying attention to their customers. The food was above average but nothing special, the service... More

Lovely rooms, lovely food and most of all lovely staff. We stayed last year as we have a stall in the BB tent at Carfest. It was great to be able to get a couple of drinks a good dinner & then a good nights sleep before joining the fray again in the morning! We had no hesitation in re-booking... More

Okay I was disappointed with my first visit, post refit ! This week we fancied an evening pub meal and a cold beer, lets try the Pheasent again ! Should have stayed at home, I was the only man at the bar waiting to give my food order. Two couples, ten cyclists, and a dog were served before the invisible... More

We stayed here for four nights and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We found the staff very attentive and service nicely paced. They don't mind you ordering a bottle of wine and having a couple of glasses in the afternoon and then the rest with dinner. The food was excellent particularly the fish and seafood dishes, the sauces are really good.... More

Second leg of our Tour from N. Yorkshire to The Pheasant Inn. Superb pub / hotel in a magnificent setting. The photos on the internet don't do it justice. Amazing view from the terrace. Rooms are small but comfortable with all required amenities. Food was OK as far as bar food goes and the breakfast next morning was excellent. Staff... More

I had ordered two BLT's and they took 45 minutes to arrive. After complaining about my wait for the food the lady behind the bar offered me a free drink which was very kind. Aside from that, great views and close to the candle factory & ice cream farm.

Called in on a busy Sunday afternoon and found seating outside in the rear garden. This is where you will find a fantastic view of the surrounding area and on a sunny day is truly idyllic. Chose the Sunday lunch. Bar staff (a male) did not appear friendly whatsoever, no hello or even a smile so quite unwelcoming. Our meal... More

We enjoyed a very pleasant Sunday lunch here with friends in June. The food was of a high quality and very tasty. The burger was fantastic, with a wide range of extra toppings and yummy chunky chips. To start I had a lobster risotto from the specials board, which was delicious with lovely big pieces of fish, while a friend... More

The good reviews we read encouraged is to choose this venue and we were not disappointed. The location is idyllic and the welcome warm & friendly. Our room was beautifully appointed, clean and very comfortable. The food was first class and fortunately we stayed three nights which gave us a chance to explore the extensive menu. A well managed establishment... More

Have been to The Pheasant many times over the years, and the location is fabulous. On a recent visit, my companion chose the black pepper and goat's cheese salad as a starter. It came in a dish with a very wide rim, but only a small dished area in the middle. Consequently the salad size was very small, with 2... More
