The location of the hotel is fine, close to the station and fairly quiet. The hotel generally is in need of an upgrade, the decor is old-fashioned and a bit tatty. Hotel is ideally situated but rather in need of update. Asked for separate shower and given room with shower over bath; room was changed but shower very small and basin in bedroom! No internet or Wifi. Telephone broken, toilet broken, no hot water. Breakfast was fairly good and hotel is very close to train station. Breakfast staff was friendly, efficient and attentive. Can not say the same thing about staff who answer the telephone or front desk people. I would not stay here again. more

Overnight stay for a friends 40th - close to station and centre of Chester only 10 mins walk so hotel location farly quiet. Parking has to be paid for seperately.
