This is a hotel with character!! Lots of Victorian charm and well refurbed. Very welcoming staff (especially Iwan the concierge!) and even got a free room upgrade. Some of the deluxe rooms looked wonderful (alas we didn't stay in one but the maid let us look!!).Rooms overlooking the back courtyard (which is a great space to sit and chill on... more

I had stayed in the Queen Hotel a few times but the last time was about five years ago. The hotel is very much in the style of the grand railway hotels of the past with high ceilings and some ornate plasterwork. It has been redecorated since my previous visits but has not lost the atmosphere. My bedroom was not... more

We stayed here for 3 nights in April. The hotel is just opposite the railway station, but we never heart noise of trains. The hotel has its own parking lot, but is was full when we arrived and it was really difficult to find a parking space in het neighborhood. However, later in the evening we could switch to the... more

We stayed here for 2 nights while attending a wedding in Chester, and picked it after my usual scan of previous reviews. The location was fine, especially when we discovered that during the day there is a free shuttle bus between the station and the town centre. The bedroom was OK, nothing more - smallish, decor a bit tired, and... more

We'd booked a standard room through lastminute.com and received a complimentary upgrade - room 133 is Henry VIII - huge 4 poster bed and lovely bathroom which looks recently refurbished with a jacuzzi bath - take note : the power switch for the jacuzzi is the unidentifed one outside the bathroom door at skirting board level ... it took me... more

We have just returned from a two night stay at The Queen Hotel. On arrival we were impressed by the decor of the hotel downstairs. Our room was a standard double room, it was comfortable with a very large bathroom (which would benefit from some modernisation). The restaurant was well furnished and the breakfast was excellent. Whilst we were there... more

Immediately on entering the hotel we were made to feel welcome. Checking in only took a few minutes, all very efficient. Our room on the top floor was large and very tidy. We decided to walk that evening into Chester center and were surprised just how close the hotel is to all the tourist attractions. We had our evening meal... more

15 of us stayed at this hotel for my hen night on 15th March 2008. From the initial booking the staff were in regular contact, checking names and offering us a special set dinner for our party. We were greeted by John, the Operations Manager on our arrival and he could not have done enough for us, from arranging a... more

We booked this hotel last minute for a night away. I read a few reviews about the hotel and was concerned that I had made a mistake, but nothing could have been further from the truth. We had a great experience at this hotel and would definately stay there again. Our room was a good size (we only booked a... more

I arrived late Friday afternoon after an early flight in from Belfast to find my room wasnt ready until 3pm. When I got to my room a twin executive I wasnt impressed. The room was so tiny you couldnt swing a cat in it. The beds were close together and at the window there was a table with one seat... more
