A friend & I stayed here for 4 nights in the Kings quarters. Lovely hotel opposite the train station, which was very convenient for us. Having read a lot of the reviews praising the staff we were both surprised at our experience. We were hurriedly checked in, no welcome or smile by a young man & found every day whilst... More

My first impression of this hotel was very good. A bit dark inside but nevertheless beautifully presented throughout with very interesting furnishings, displays etc. There is ample parking although this is charged at up to £12.00 per night extra. The reception staff were excellent as indeed were the staff generally, the management however was very poor. The room we had... More

A group of 12 of us stayed here overnight after an enjoyable day at the races. Our room was lovely and the hotel has some fantastic features. Breakfast included in the package was hearty with plenty of choice. Glass of Bucks Fizz was very welcome. Car parking very expensive, but would definitely stay here again and recommend to family and... More

We stayed at this hotel two years ago,but only had breakfast and a bar meal,so did not experience the kings quarters grill. We ate in the grill both nights from the set menu and the food was fabulous and the service was good. Our room in the kings building was large with a lovely bathroom.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights on a coach tour and we were pleasantly surprised at the high standards of the hotel for the price we paid for our trip. Previous to going we requested a light room which was perfect spotless clean and very roomy and no traffic noise at night. Before dining I... More

We had a fantastic stay at this superb hotel. My eight year old daughter wanted to stay for longer. The decor in the hotel was fabulous and we spent lots of time taking photos in and around the gardens and in the hotel. Our room was upgraded from a twin to a family (it was only myself and daughter). We... More

Myself and my fiancé stayed here last Saturday for a little get away and we really enjoyed our stay. This hotel is the best I've been to in our country so far. We stayed in Peter I room on the 6th floor (Russian Kings) of the Kings Quarters. This room was very posh, modern and clean with a large bath... More

This old hotel has been completely modernised. But it still has its character and charm!! It is just like staying in a stately home, it has all of its period features intact. It is also filled with some unusual and different items. It is directly opposite the railway station, and the service and food are good. One minus point drinks... More

Recently stayed three nights at the Premier Queen Hotel and loved it. My room was in the Kings Quarters and was very spacious with a lovely view over City Road. I loved the night light, which I discovered the second night could be turned on and off - little yellow light at floor level so you can see your way... More

Helpful staff, comfortable room, good bathroom with separate bath and shower, a very good breakfast. Located right opposite the railway station, a short walk from city centre.carpark adjacent for an extra £10.
