My friend and I recently stayed at the Chester Grosvenor hotel for a Spa weekend. Couldn't fault the Spa and treatments, hotel is beautiful and the food in the restaurant is amazing. The only thing that ruined it was our room was very hot at night - even though there was an aircon control it didn't seem to do anything.... More

recently stayed at The Chester Grosvenor and enjoyed every minute. Our room was a good size with everything we needed. They do not automatically offer a tea/coffee tray but were more than happy to bring one to our room when requested. The staff throughout the hotel were excellent, helpful and friendly without being overpowering. We had one meal in the... More

We came to one of our shopping areas we love and after a lot of spending we looked around for somewhere to go for lunch. The Grosvenor was very close so we went in for afternoon tea. The hotel is very traditional and the tea was really good. Smart staff who were totally professional and the style of decor is... More

Went for mothers 80th, had afternoon tea, booked with a lady called Grace who was highly efficient. Arranged for bouquet to be on table as we arrived, everything was perfect, bouquet stunning and very reasonably priced. As two of our party were men they asked if we preferred gentleman's afternoon tea, which was the same price but had chips and... More

The location of the hotel is fantastic- right in the centre of Chester- the downside though at night you can hear all the bars kicking out- so it does very noisey after 1am! The room was lovely - although not modern - very classic - if your looking for ultra modern and glossy finish this isn't the hotel for you... More

To be clear from the outset, this is the kind of hotel I make a point of avoiding if travelling myself. Classic, old-fashioned and well-heeled, the Grosvenor is under-stated luxury in so many senses..and to be almost under the Clock-Tower, at the epicentre of Chester, and yet be such a calm oasis, is impressive and very deceptive. Needless to say,... More

My wife was due to 'celebrate' a rather special birthday just before Easter and, rather than have a party with the accompanying well-meant fuss - she doesn't like to be the centre of attention - she chose to return to one of our favourite English cities, Chester, and to our favourite hotel in that city, The Chester Grosvenor'. From the... More

Stayed at the Grosvenor for two nights in a deluxe room and yes thought it was pretty good albeit not quite there. The room was really nice and the staff just couldn’t do enough to attend to our needs. The food was good and very reasonably priced for a 5-star establishment, while the car parking was just great with an... More

The smartly dressed gent at the barrier some 200 metres from the hotel in the centre of the city, who turned out to be employed by the hotel and who allowed us access and advised us how to negotiate the final approach, was a really nice touch, and a great start to our stay in Chester. We really liked the... More

This was our first visit to Chester and what a wonderful place it was rich in history and plenty to do for all ages. I must say both my wife and I agreed this was one of the best experiences in terms of hotel service we have received. From arrival to departure we found all the staff very friendly and... More
