My partner booked a room via late rooms.com as a surprise for my birthday......when we arrived we discovered a mix up and that another couple were in the 'sleigh bed' room (the only decent-ish room by the sound of it!). We were then offered a family room.....got key and headed up to our room......soon as we opened the door out... More

Stayed her for one night the room was tiny with dirty carpets at the edges where it needs a proper hoovering. The shower tray filled to the point that it would overflow after a two minute shower. The quilt was ripped at the seams and bulbs was missing from the lamp. The price included breakfast and was from 8-10 but... More

I have stayed here a few times mainly because it is so close to my son's flat in Chester. On this occasion we visited as my daughter is to attend Chester Uni. I have given a review previously and said that it's in need of decorating. However on this occasion despite the cleanliness of both the bedding and towels the family room... More

Let's start with the positives. It's a good central location and has its own free car park. Room was adequate, although was a bit cold due to unseasonably cold weather for August. Breakfast was ok, but instant coffee sachets and hot water not great. A little overpriced for what's on offer.

My wife Julie and I were treated to an overnight stay here as part of a short break after our Halloween wedding. Advertised as the most haunted pub in Chester, we relished the thought of some ghostly activity, and upon our arrival, this pub/hotel certainly looked the part! It's fairly basic in appearance and our room, number 31( supposed to... More

Room was noisy due to heavy traffic all night and people talking on sidewalk. Twin bed had a strong smell of urine. Checked out after one night of a planned 3 night stay. The coffee served with breakfast was instant but the breakfast was fine. We had the same experience as Ray H regarding the entry to the reception area.... More

The last review referred to a visit 6 months earlier. We visited in APRIL 2014. On a Saturday. When the blurb said "away from the city centre" it didn't say it was on the ring road !! In fact the hotel is an island in the ring road ! We did think we had come to the wrong place. Having... More

We stayed here for 2 nights in October 2013. The place is a bit tired looking but the pub is a popular, bust location. The service was very courteous and our room with the sleigh bed was very spacious and clean. The hotel was convenient for the walls and town so we walked everywhere. Breakfast was lovely and all in... More

When we arrived on the car park we were a Lillie worried we had chosen the wrong pub to stay. Once inside however we received a friendly warm welcome and our room was clean, spacious and worth the money. We will be back and will recommend it.
