I stayed here last week and it is in a good position to walk into town, the owner is a very nice lady, I booked a single room and for some reason was given a family room with four beds !Even though I was the only guest. It was ok. Furnishings were very fussy and old fashioned, the breakfast room... More

Staying for one night only on business. Excellent Wifi strength in the bedroom and comfortable single bed. Bed linen and décor dated but this didn't detract from a good nights sleep. excellent breakfast. would definitely recommend and stay again if in Chester

Stopped here for two nights for friends wedding at the zoo. Good location for town or zoo. Host was extremely hospitable. Room was lovely. Breakfast was superb, full english, pancakes, choice of drinks, cereal. Sorted me for the day. Will visit again. Thank you

We arrived here late on Sunday night after spending day in Manchester. We were greeted on arrival by a lovely lady and was directed to our room. The room for me and husband and two children was huge and had everything we needed tea coffee tv hair dryer and trousers press. The room was exceeding clean and very homely, the... More

Host very welcoming and helpful. The family room was large and comfortable though linen and curtains a bit dated. Shower weak but hot. Great breakfast. House did smell strongly of cooked food on occasion.

We only stayed here for one night as a stopover after spending the day at the Chester Zoo. I wished we could of stayed longer. Our twin room was very quiet, spacious and clean with a smallish but functional en-suite. Although not right in town it was only a 10 - 15 minute casual walk to get there. Breakfast itself... More

My husband booked us in to Green Gables for one night as a stopover on our journey from Ireland, mainly because he was told our family of 6 could all fit in the family room. I later read the reviews and was a bit apprehensive - but needn't have worried at all. The family room had 2 generous single beds,... More

We decided to come to Chester (family of four, two small children) for shopping. When we first arrived the owner let us in but was not very welcoming. As soon as we went into the room, we dropped our bags and were ready to go out. Before we left for the day we put up the radiators in the room... More

The hosts where very friendly and helpful, we had a family room with en-suite which was very clean with comfortable beds. The breakfast was very nice with plenty to eat. A very relaxing place to stay and we would stay again. Great value for money.

We stayed for 2 nights in August to visit Chester races. This beautiful Victorian house is in a very quiet residential area, with off-street parking for several cars. The garden gates were locked at night (guests are given a key) for added security. The nearby Liverpool Road offers a regular bus service in and out of Chester, but its only a... More
