The hotel was in an excellent situation - near to the town centre (lovely walk up hill) and near to the harbour (lovely walk down hill). Breakfast was absolutely delicious and piping hot and freshly cooked. Loved the terraced garden and enjoyed drinks in the sun. Only criticism - no water in the room, no biscuits (perhaps a good thing!),... More

We're told that Alderney wants to market itself to attract tourists. Well, it's going to have to be more attractive if this 'hotel' was much to go by. We had some bad experiences, though others in our party had better rooms. We are told the hotel is for sale, which explains a lot of the indifference to our needs. We... More

Located down the hill, far from St Anna, close to the harbour, the hotel is a good place to stay overnight. Clean but small room with great bathroom. Poor breakfast and quite good dinner. Warm welcome from the staff, friendly atmosphere at night but noisy when you sleep above the bar (very heavy wooden chairs). Cosy place to be for... More

We stayed as a family of four in August for a few days and had rooms 13 & 14 which form a self contained suite on the second floor. This was great accommodation, nicely furnished with simple pine furniture and very comfortable beds. We also enjoyed the sea and lighthouse views from the rooms. The location is great, close to... Stayed for one night on the lovely island of Alderney. On first appearance the hotel looks a little ramshackle, however the rooms are comfortable, clean and well equipped. The staff were friendly and the full english breakfast spot on. Nothing really to complain about and did the trick for a relaxing one night stay.

I've stayed at the Harbour Lights many times over the last three or four years, for business and pleasure, at the height of summer when the place is packed to the rafters and in the depths of winter when I've been the only guest. The latest visit was a weekend's R&R with Mrs E. The staff have always been professional,... More

Fantastic hotel on a beautiful island with friendly staff that will go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. The tiered terrace is a great place to enjoy the sun and relax with a drink and friends on your own and has excellent views over the beach and harbour. The bar staff are all friendly and you will... A fishing pal and I ate at the Harbour Lights a couple of times when we visited Alderney in April. The food was very good and reasonably priced, and so we decided to stay there when we returned during Alderney week. Our room was fine, the staff very pleasant, but somebody has taken their eye off of the ball with... More

Our steaks are all 8oz and prices are £17.50 for a Ribeye, £17.50 for an Entrecote Au Poivre and £18.50 for a Sirloin or Ribeye with King Prawns. All come with roasted potatoes, confit tomato and salad. I believe our prices are reasonable and highly competitive. If you had raised the issue of the steak being overcooked we could have... More

Second stay here now and all that let it down was the evening meal . It meant we ate elsewhere for our other two nights. The room were clean and tidy and the staff attentive. Breakfast was spot on again

We are a mature couple and from the description in the brochures the Hotel seemed good. We arrived there 4.30 p.m. the room allocated to us was occupied but the Manager said we had been upgraded but the room was not ready due to a power failure. You needed binoculars to see the Seaview! The bed was lumpy and there... More

This mature couple both had sticks and one had a particularly bad knee and could not manage the 10 minute walk to or from town or the 5 minute walk to or from the harbour area. They decided to check into a four star hotel nearer the harbour for the convenience of restaurants being around them and I guess because... More
