By way of booking 'on the go' we ended up spending the night here on Friday 4 May 2012. What a mistake! The only room left was their 'disabled' room at a cost of £83 for one night. Once in however tired we were we wished we had gone elsewhere. The room was shabby in the extreme-fadedand stained upholstry, marked... More

I had no problems at Travelodge Ely. There was a Black smudge on the Wall, that seems to be quite common in Travelodges. I wonder, how did it get on there and why was it not cleaned off or Painted over? The Room was OK otherwise, at the end of a Corridor so nice and quiet.

Booked three rooms for friends arriving for a weekend to visit the Cathedral, we decided to stay when one couple could not make it. Reception staff were very nice and told us if we needed anything just ask, they would have needed a makeover team in to improve this place! Beyond reception was the worst hotel I had ever been... I stayed here a couple of nights ago. For the price, this place met my expectations. The room was clean and spacious and included a good standard ensuite and TV. I would disagree with the reviews that say it is shabby - whilst it certainly isn't as cheerful and cosy as it might be, the areas that I saw weren't... More

This travelodge is in need of a thorough clean and new decoration throughout. Stayed there 3 days ago and would not go back again. We have stayed in about 15 travelodges so far and this one was one of the worst. Needs a ful refurb!

Good value and well located hotel. The rooms and particularly the corridors are seriously in need of some TLC. Rooms clean but looking 'tired'. As usual you get what you pay for.

Had an overnight here whilst attending a wedding. On the positive side, the hotel is cheaply priced and conveniently located within 5 minutes of the centre of pretty Ely. Unfortunately, here was where the positive ended. Overall, the room was in poor condition and not particularly clean. The bed was really soft and actually didn't fit the bed frame, whilst... More

Having had a delightful stay at the Cambridge Travelodge the night before I looked forward to this. However, the reception was very North Korean or what I would imagine this to be with the keys plonked down in front of me with an attitude that made me feel like a nuisance. The room sank my heart even further, the fan... More

Spent 2 nights in this Travelodge, as usual the rooms were clean, lovely white fluffy towels and white cotton sheets and duvet covers. Only cost £10 per night (sale price), for this price who needs pictures on the walls, yes the rooms are basic, paid more in other hotels for a lot less, hospitality tray and tv in all rooms.... More

I rate Travelodge's against what I'd expect from a cheap hotel. Comfortable, clean, warm and with hot water. The Ely Travelodge is perfectly adequate. It is in a good location withing 20 minutes walking distance from the centre of town rather than having to eat at the Little Chef.
