On the suggestion of a friend and veteran Cathedral House guest, I spent 11 days staying on the top floor (not general let out) of this lovely BnB, run by Robin and Jenny Farndale. Met many of their other guests over congenial breakfasts and enjoyed the hospitality. No reason not to like the top floor room as it offers two... More

On a recent visit to Ely I stayed at Cathedral House. I have also stayed there before, and both visits have been excellent. It is perhaps the best located bed and breakfast option in Ely, situated as it is right in the centre, just yards from the Cathedral, restaurants and pubs etc. It has a cozy, traditional feel and is... I have stayed at Cathedral House several times and have always thoroughly enjoyed my stay. It is a lovely traditional house in a brilliant location. The rooms are well maintained and equipped and have extremely comfy beds. The owners are always most welcoming and helpful. I would thoroughly recommend staying here if visiting Ely or nearby.

We stayed here over christmas and new year and the owners are very pleasant and helpful. The problem was the showers. There was insufficient water pressure to have a shower and the baths were half size.We all found washing very tricky as squeezing into a half size bath because of the water pressure made the stay difficult. If you are... More

We were very sorry the plumbing problems were not brought to our attention during the stay as we had regular contact and helped with other matters. Our description of the three en suites is very clear. We will look into the issues raised. More

The Cathedral House is ideally situated for the centre of Ely - only a very short walk from the shops and restaurants. The house itself is tastefully decorated and immaculately presented. We had a double room - complete with its own sitting room and en suite bathroom. The former was comfortable and the latter a very pleasant place to sit... More

This was our first time in Ely and we are so glad we choose this B&B. Jenny & Robin are charming hosts and Jenny cooks a lovely breakfast. This is a very old character building with rooms in the main house and in an adjoining coach house. We stayed in the main house and the room was very comfortable with... More

The door to the place is hard to spot, almost hidden beneath overhanging trees. But it's worth pursuing! We had a delightful 'room' more of a suite with our own cosy sitting room overlooking the street. Little touches such as wine glasses and bottle opener, were appreciated. Comfortable and warm we really loved the place. The owner, Mrs Farndale, was... More

Possibly one of the most beautiful B&B's that we have stayed at in the UK. Jenny and Robin (the proprietors) are warm and friendly, and the house is stunning. Lovely breakfast and a really pretty garden in which to enjoy a few glasses of wine in the evening. If you stay here, book for dinner at The Old Fine Engine... More

I stayed for a second time, couple of years since last time. Don't think anything has been done to house or garden, so sad to see a house with such good bones neglected so much. Stay was fine, breakfast ok. Traffic noise a problem. Think a bit more effort would make the price more acceptable.

Probably the nicest place we have ever stayed at. The hosts of tastefully decorated their unique house, and were so friendly and informative. The breakfast was excellent. We can't speak highly enough. Will be back
