My wife and I booked a Superior room for a long weekend to celebrate a special anniversary. Room was directly on the car park, opening the door to find a car not 2 feet away and the noise of coming and going in the night as "customers" left in the early hours. Bathroom was very good, newly decorated. Bedroom well... More

There can be no better base to stay in Ely than The Lamb. Our stay has double aspect, a short walk to the best restaurant in town and an even shorter one to the cathedral. be prepared for less than excellent service from the waiting staff - who seem to be either easily distracted or overworked.

My partner and I have only eaten here, so we cant reveiw the rooms but can only imagine they are as appauling as the following. Anyway, firstly the food.. If I wanted a childs meal I would have ordered one! The chef seems to scimp out on portions wherever possible, picture a ceaser salad consisting of five pieces of lettuce... More

Management of this hotel is appalling ... The staff are so friendly but they are run off their feet... Breakfast is disgusting I complained about my poached eggs being underdone and the response I got from the manager was "oh they are normally overdone" ... The bacon is boiled the sausage is undercooked and the rest is cold ... U... More

The Lamb has a fantastic setting right beside the cathedral. On arrival the small car park was full and the less than helpful gent on reception shrugged and told us to park in one of the town's public car parks. Luckily someone left and we were able to park. There was no wifi throughout our stay - we were told... More

We stayed here over two weekends in July, a time when the hotel was very busy and seemed constantly fully booked. Our first stay was enjoyable except that the service at breakfast was poor, a particular problem was that coffee was served by bringing a pot round and staff only appeared infreqently. The manager apologised at checkout saying he had... More

A great location in the centre of town. We arrived in Ely with nowhere planned to stay, so this hotel was a real god-send. Though the room was pretty basic and the bathroom could have been cleaner, overall for its central position it was worth the money. We had dinner in the restaurant which was okay, though could have had... More

Best thing about this hotel is the location - bang in the centre of Ely. It's a little run down, with hallways and corridors badly in need of decoration. Rooms are quite small and bathrooms pretty basic. Staff are friendly and helpful and the breakfast is good.

Don,t stay here if you want a quiet nights sleep as your bedroom (no 38) door exits on to the congested car park so from 10 pm its wacky races with people double moving there cars also you cant have the windows open as you hear all sorts of peoples conversations as your bedroom is in the car park, the evening... Room 15 - nice bed, but windows open over the car park and you can hear the hum of machines which are noisy. Nice clean rooms. The breakfast was terrible - bacon boiled, cheap ingredients and the flat grilled mushroom was a single chestnut mushroom.
