Just got back from a 2 night stay here. Weought it was a tad expensive but in July and peak holiday time perhaps one shouldn't complain. The room was well equipped and comfortable but unfortunately it was stiflingly hot after one of the warmest weeks of the year, When we walked in the heat hit you like a blanket. We... More

We stayed in a superior double room and were very pleased with what we got for a great price and it included breakfast. Parking was available at the rear of the hotel which was convenient. Our bedroom area had a comfortable clean bed with good lighting and TV, our superior room also had a lounge area with sofa and armchairs... More

The room was a good size a very comfortable bed. But that's all the good, the room was above an air conditioning unit which ran 24hours a day and nosiey the windows in the room had no means of being kept open for fresh air. Breakfast was very poor affair not enough staff to manage diners we sent toast back... More

We had one of the new rooms in the courtyard with car parking on our doorstep! This was very convenient since the old part of the hotel has no lift. The room was roomy and modern with a particularly spacious en-suite shower room with walk in shower. We were surprised at how quiet our outside ground floor room was. Breakfast... More

The bar area is great, really nice atmosphere and the bar food is also excellent. You can have a relaxed drink in here and not feel like you are out of place. The Restaurant however has a weird atmosphere and is not very nice, I would much rather order a meal to have in the Bar - which is what... More

I stayed here for one night which, quite honestly, was enough! My room was terribly warm and airless as quite unbelievably the heating had been on (in July!). I chose to open the window but then couldn't sleep due to the street noise from people leaving a nearby pub which went on until the early hours. The room itself was... More

The location could not be more central. Just a minute or so from the cathedral, which was one of the principal reasons for our visit. However with the centrality comes city centre traffic, limited but adequate parking, and the constraints of an historic building. The hotel has no lift so our second floor room required a tussle with our luggage.... More

Visited here for a family dinner. The service was good, but the food hit and miss, macaroni cheese without the cheese, reheated baked potatoes, but tasty beef and ale pie. The ambiance is nice but they need to concentrate on serving consistently good food.

We visited the Lamb Hotel to speak with there wedding co-ordinator, as on the website they have an offer to cater for 50 people. (After a ten minute wait) the lady we saw apologised and said that they no longer offer this deal as they cannot accommodate that many people now, only up to 30. When we called to arrange... More

The centrality of this hotel is its biggest attraction. Atmospheric and elegant public rooms, but my room, 21, was so hot from the pipes which run through ducts around the room that it was uncomfortable, even with the portable fan going. Ok, it was high summer outside, but with a window overlooking the main thoroughfare I had to choose heat... More
