A comfortable double room above the pub in a quiet village a few miles from Ely. Room was clean, tidy and comfortable, with lovely view onto the riverside. Small but adequately equipped ensuite with strong hot shower. Good breakfast in the morning. Friendly staff.

WoW! What an absolute gem! Farm Eggs, Local Ham and Chips all washed down with Red Diesel (guest ale). Great night sleep and a hearty breakfast the next morning! I'll definitely be calling back when I'm next in the area...friendly owners also.

Very handy to Cambridge, Ely and surrounds. Bedroom well appointed, shower very good. Emily is wonderful host, great breakfast cook and very helpful with our bags on the stairs - a big plus for older couples!

Staying at the inn was an absolute pleasure. Fantastic location next to the river. Very good breakfasts and the evening meals menu is traditional pub fare. The quality of the food was good especially the ham, eggs and chips which was fantastic. Friendly and very hard working staff/owners. Only negative point was the shower which leaked a bit. Beds new... More

We were looking to find somewhere to stay that was fairly rural and slightly outside of Cambridge and this place certainly did the job - it's about 20 minutes drive from Cambridge (probably slightly shorter to Ely). Not the easiest place to find despite Mepal being a relatively small village so probably best to have a map for the journey.... More

I stayed here on a hot and sunny Wednesday 11th June 2014 and couldn't have wished for a better location. Situated by the lazy New Bedford River and just on the edge of the village of Mepal on the old and mostly unused Bridge Road. It's a quiet and peaceful place. As it had been a hot sunny day I... Stayed here for 1 night in the double room. It's a really lovely, relaxing, friendly and clean place. Fantastic location on the river and short driving distance to Ely. Need a car to get around if staying here, however, the pub and restaurant downstairs was a great place to eat and relax - no need to leave the premises. Vegetarian... More

I stayed last weekend at The Three Pickerels on a B & B basis and found it to be very good, clean, comfortable and an ideal place to stay for Ely and surround area. It has decking overlooking the river. I had a twin room as single occupancy which overlooked the rive. It was a very pleasant en-suite room, the... More

We returned (just for a meal and a drink) to "an old friend" The Three Pickerels Pub at Mepal, after an absence of about a year, and found it was under new management, The menu was greatly inferior to what we were expecting (A layby chuck wagon has a better selection.) as was the beer. However, we decided to try... More

A nice comfortable pub by the river, with friendly host and excellent breakfast. Clean room with WiFi and parking. It is a pub, so expect a little noise until 11:00 pm but it didn't bother us. Close by the river and good place to enjoy a nice walk and bird watch.
