Stayed 3 nights to use as a base for a bit of a taste of Cambridgeshire. Made to feel welcome from the word go by the manager and this continued throughout our stay. This is an old house with some creaks and a few draughts when the wind gets up but heated very well so you don't feel cold. Room... More

This place is nicely secluded away from the main thoroughfares in Ely. I cannot say much else to recommend it sadly. 1. Seemed anxious to take our orders and get rid of us 2. The chicken was undercooked and late in being served 3. The retaurant was drafty 4. The service was below standard 5. Some sweets were ordered but... More

We stayed at the Nyton on a business trip. The bedroom was beautifully warm, unlike Premier Inn or Travelodge. We arrived after a long drive, were not keen to go out to eat so the owner offered to cook for us. The meal was freshly cooked and excellent. We only saw the owner, the chef and receptionist all were very... More

Unfortunately I have to agree with many other reviews. This place is tired and shabby in public areas and our room was dated, with a rather cramped ensuite bathroom - towel rail placed next to toilet - which burnt my unsuspecting wife! The real problem is that the place seems understaffed. Our room was handed over two and a quarter... More

My wife and I dined here with some friends for our annual Xmas get together And once again was not disappointed. The set price for a 3 course Xmas meal had gone up a little over the previous year and the free glass of prosseco was conspicuous by its absence the smoked salmon starter was excellent and the main courses... Went for a family occasion as there was alot of us , the dining room was set out nicely and looked clean and tidy. When the food arrived it wasn't organised, there was the owner and one member of staff to serve us all, the food was slow to come out and we were constantly missing things and having to... More

My review is of a family Ruby Wedding celebration held yesterday, at which my wife and I were guests. (As we live locally, we have not stayed at the hotel, so cannot comment on the rooms, breakfasts, etc.) We thoroughly enjoyed this family celebration for 30 guests, for which the hotel organised the dining room for our sole use and... Four of us stayed here for two nights and enjoyed it very much. The Nyton is set in lovely grounds and has bags of character. It adjoins Ely Golf course and offers discounts to play. The room we had was spacious and clean with a nice bathroom and nice soft towels. The breakfasts were excellent and evening meals available, although... More

We stayed overnight at the Nyton a week ago. The friendly owner was happy to find us a secure place to leave our bikes, which was welcome. It's a fine old building with attractive and sizeable gardens in a quiet location only a few minutes walk from the cathedral, which was great. Our room was a bit disappointing though (a... More

Booked The Nyton without reviewing previous reviews.... then did and got a bit sceptical. But we ventured forth, and for that I am very happy. We had a great time at the Nyton, close to where our relatives live in Ely, good accommidation, great breakfast and lovely gardens!
