Power supply to the room tripped out on both mornings of our stay. My wife was "soaped-up" in the shower the first day, I the second. We were left in darkness for 5/10 cold minutes. At least three other rooms were similarly effected on the second day. Reception was unmanned and uncontactable on the room phone. A grudging token reduction... More

Property is in its own grounds with fantastic views over the city and of the Cathedral. Family owned and run by a member of the family who was brought up in the property. Decor is good but has seen better days, bedrooms simply furnished, but the electricals could have been tidier, with lots of leads and duct tape visible. Also... More

We normally stay in 5star luxury hotels.Wow did we fall lucky with this guest house.Very friendly welcome.Booking was simple. The room was small but adequate.I found the bed ok but my husband didn't,so that is why he gives it 4 stars. It was very quiet so you will not be disturbed. The food was just lovely. The menu has a good choice and is... I recently stayed for two nights on a business trip. I got a friendly welcome and the room and bathroom were a good size. Furniture and decor were clean but very tired looking. The electrics look rather dubious with extension cords and elderly fittings. I learnt to allow a good five minutes for the warm water finally to reach the... More

This is a nice hotel close to the city centre. The en-suite facilities are a clean but a bit strange - the wash basin was in the bedroom. Rooms clean, quiet and comfortable - if in need of some decoration. Food in the restaurant (and the drinks) was o.k. but a bit pricey for the quality. Friendly staff.

After reading through the reviews after we had booked a night at the Nyton, I can truly say that I was looking forward to the Fawlty Towers experience, purely for the entertainment value, but left feeling very disappointed. On arrival we we greeted warmly by the receptionist who showed us to the family room with four poster bed. The room... More

Just stayed overnight for a business trip. Was told by the receptionist that the wifi was'iffy'. Hairdryer cord was not long enough to reach the mirror. Bed very firm. Breakfast was supposed to be at 7.30 am and on arriving at the dining room it was locked with other people waiting. No sign of any staff. I managed to hunt... More

Just an overnight stay for a business client meeting the following day. Arrived later on a Sunday, and was quite understaffed, meaning we had to wait a while for dinner. Seemed to just be the manager working, and one person in the kitchen. Food was good, and service was friendly, but could have been better. Not too far to walk... More

We didn't stay but attended a wedding reception and must warn that wheelchair access is poor, the ramps are far too steep with the one at reception(because of lack of disabled parking) was parked on and the one in the dining room has a huge door step to get over before you negotiate the steep ramp itself onto grass.

The guest house is ideal for exploring Ely as it is just a few minutes walk away from the centre of town. Rooms are comfortable, have tea and coffee making facilities, an iron, hairdryer etc. staff are friendly and helpful. Good breakfasts and we had a nice evening meal in the evening
