Jul 26, 2009 | Trip type: Friends getaway

When we arrived the room was not cleaned very well from the previous habitants: rest of food in the drawers, hair in the shower, old newspapers behind the couch. During our stay of 7 days the room was not cleaned once. The bed was made up halfheartedly sometimes, but new towels were delivered every day. The windows were broken and... more

Stayed there last night after discovering Cambridge was sold out. Maybe I was just happy to have a place to stay, or maybe I just have low standards, but the room I stayed in (single en suite) was clean and tidy, but a wee bit tired, not to mention compact... I don't thnk I could swing a cat in the... more

The folks who've written the other reviews sound a little like budget-travel virgins to me. My wife and I are on the final night of a three-night stay at Fenner's Hotel and have found it just fine, thanks. The conditions here are about what you'd expect for this kind of budget accommodation in Europe. By budget I mean for (relatively)... more

Stayed here on 31/01/09 never again this has to be the worst place we have ever stayed! And we've stayed at a few. The room was tiny for a double, dirty walls, some kind of sofa bed that would have been nice if you were fred flintstone as it was like sleeping on rocks! When we arrived the room was cold the... more

I thought the " hotel" was a glorified guest house of very poor quality. The room was exceptionally tiny, it was more like living in a box, the bathroom was so small that you could almost have a shower and brush your teeth at the same time. It was so narrow you could hardly turn in it. If I put... more

I guess it's my own fault for not reading the reviews before staying here, but I only needed to stay one night and wanted to be close to the station. In that regard, I cannot fault the location of the place, and the staff are friendly, as the other reviews have noted. So my first complaint: I arrived with my... more

Staff were friendly and helpful, even after we asked for our money back. Room was very small and cramped, no facilities for storing clothes or other items, just hangers on a hook by the window. Walls and skirting boards were dirty, damp patch on ceiling and filthy cushion on bed. Room was very noisy, someone have loud sex next door,... more

Stayed here at short notice. Had a double room ensuite, downstairs for myself for £50. Strange smell in the room, sort of smoky, beery. TV didn't work properly, no kettle, next to reception so was quite noisy. Was woken at around 6am by someone knocking on the back door in the area outside the room to be let in, think... more

We booked a double room for one night B&B at £60 for the room. The room was reasonably clean and away from the main road. The location was good too. But there end the good bits. The place was uninviting and had the smell of cigarette smoke coming from the 'reception area', which was tucked away at the back (right... more
