Group of us stayed mid week. Rooms are clean, tidy and bed linen good quality. However room was small, bathroom tiny and towels cheap. Cambridge is expensive but for the money and a bit of time you could do better but this place is perfectly acceptable. Breakfast was OK but asked for earl grey tea and they didn't have any,... More

We found the Sorrento by accident having to stay in Cambridge at very short notice. The hotel, run by a lovely Italian family, is friendly, very clean, and extremely well located for all amenities and Cambridge city centre. The friendly staff, without exception, could not do enough for us to make us feel welcome right throughout our three-week stay. The... More

A friendly small hotel on the outskirts of Cambridge owned and run by a charming Italian family The hotel is very near a regular bus stop to the centre and good value compared to the expensive city hotels The restaurant is good with lovely meals in a nice simple atmosphere as associated with family run hotels The bedroom was small... Does the job. Expensive for what you get at £125 but breakfast was decent and the reception guy was helpful (if not proactive). I wasn't put off by some of the negative reviews on here. If you need somewhere to stay this will do fine. Cambridge is pricey! Restaurant only opens if it has prebookings so we took a chinese... More

This hotel disappoints on several levels. Decor is very tired and badly in need of renovation and updating. The restaurant was closed on the two nights we were there, and as it is a hike into town that was very inconvenient. Fortunately the pub next door served good food. Our room on the ground floor was subject to noisy revellers... More

Having read the reviews for the hotel I was a little apprehensive however I need not have been. The hotel is situated on a main road but there is ample parking at the rear and in adjacent streets. The hotel appears to be comprised of three houses and as such the layout is cluttered although it has a reception area... More

This hotel is not especially cheap but is close to bus routes and is generally a relaxed location not too far from Camb. centre ...I found various fast food outlets and a good Irish club/ pub nearby . Also the English chef cooks good dishes and takes a personal interest in guests . I would stay here again . My... More

Nice hotel ran by lovely people. Location was a little further outside of the city than I thought but with a bus stop right outside this wasn't a problem. Clean room and nothing was too much trouble. Lovely food in the restaurant! Shops nearby and even a wine merchants across the road...great for gifts!!!

Bedroom is small Shower cubicle very small. Shower head holder could not be tighten on rod - kept sliding down. Nice hotel with somewhat fading out decor. Quiet location with pubs and various takeaway shops in the neighbourhood. Ventilation of room good. Bus Route No. 3 on street leads to city centre.

Booking this hotel for a visit to Cambridge as a birthday celebration was costly at £125 per night, breakfast was bland, staff disinterested, room functional but tired, too far to walk to the city centre (1 hour?) no hotel location map, Disappointed really
