We enjoyed our visit to Cambridge UK and staying at the Carlton Lodge. We stayed in a Double Room with a very comfortable king size bed. Had all we needed in the room which included tea and coffee and a wall mounted TV, which was appreciated when we were awake with Jet Lag !! Breakfast was more than enough for... More

Our hosts were friendly and very welcoming. The double room was small and we had to develop strategies for moving around. The ensuite bathroom is very compact and the sink so small that you really have to shower if you want to wash. The water pressure was, however, very low, so I was gad I had washed my long hair... The strong point of this place is the friendliness of the owner, very kind and welcoming. Apart from this the place is very basic, the room we had was tiny and the bathroom, well, to call it a bathroom would be optimistic. It was a tiny cubicle where to move about if you are tall is a nightmare. Many cobwebs... More

As someone else already mentioned it in their review this accommodation offers all basic necessities for a very reasonable price. It is conveniently located in a walking distance to city center in a quiet and safe neighborhood. The owner who runs this place is very nice and helpful, and will do his best to accommodate special needs of your travel... More

Note this is a B&B and you get, to an extent, what you pay for. Given I paid £35 for a single room with shared bathroom, my expectations were for a basic hotel with average or worse facilities and condition. I was happily contradicted by a warm welcome, clean room and bathroom and a good continental breakfast. I felt safe... More

My fiance and myself were up for a concert, and after a near miss experience with another B&B in Cambridge, I booked this one with just over a week's notice. It was quite a way from the rail station, but worth it. The owner and his wife were very nice people, and our room was lovely. Nice small ensuite bathroom... More

I booked a single room for 2 nights, for a citybreak in Cambridge. The room was very small, but very clean, did the job. Toilet and shower shared, on the same floor, also very clean. Breakfast not cooked, but a wide choice of cereals, cheese, ham, salami, plenty of tea, coffee and toast, butter and jams. Close to the city... More

As I was feeling ill, it was late in the day and I was tired of driving my girlfriend & I decided to stop In Cambridge for the night. We saw the sign and stopped. Only a family room was available but the owner gave it to us for the double price. Good start. The owner was friendly & helpful... More

Please note I'm a generally positive reviewer so please take this into account when you're weighing up your options! I realised that it was better value for money to stay at the Lodge than train and bus it to my place of work, due to a night out with colleagues in the city. The lodge is well sign posted, and... If you don't mind small basic rooms and tiny bathrooms, this B&B is a good choice in Cambridge. Everything was very clean. Flat-screen TV, and tea and coffee facilities in room, but bring hair-dryer. Rooms are very quiet, at least no.4 was, no traffic noise from the main road. Very well served by public transport to central Cambridge (buses 1... More
