I stayed one night at Carlton Lodge and was very dissapointed. For 50.00£ per night I expected much more. Only clean place in the room was the bed. Other furtniture in the room and fittings in the bathroom had few years dust on them. Everything in the room was old and dollhouse size. And, smelled so badlly. The carpet was... more

The mattresses in the twin suite are getting very old. The room was on the small side. No warm breakfast. Parking in front of the house. Walking distance from center (25 minutes). more

On a street liberally sown with guest houses, I believe that I may have struck upon the best. Ciaran was friendly and efficient, the room clean and well appointed, and the buffet breakfast excellent. more

I use Carlton Lodge as a base for our yearly language group visits to England. It is very close to the center of Cambridge, involving a short walk across Midsummer Common. The facilities are functional, clean and in good order. The overwhelming advantages of this guest house are the cost, as it seems to give the greatest value for money... more

Twenty three pounds was a tiny price to pay for a room. Granted, the room was small, but it was a perfectly clean and comfortable base for a part leisure, part study trip to Cambridge. Having wifi in the room was definitely a bonus. I kept to the breakfast of fresh fruit, yoghurt and muesli which set me up for... more

I enjoyed a very comfortable stay at Carlton Lodge, and found the owners to be helpful and friendly hosts. (Also it is not far to walk into the centre of Cambridge from there.) more

Situated in nice, quiet area near to centre of Cambridge. Very nice, kind, helpful personnel. Well kept and clean. The rooms I got (one for me and another for my parents) had toilets and shower,s new and clean with towels provided. Full breakfast included consists of a glass of orange juice, choice of various types of cereal, fresh fruit, grapefruit... more

Although the owners of the Carlton lodge are very friendly, this seemed almost an insult when my husband and I were presented with this dark, smelly and dirty B&B. In the room there were cobwebs (with spiders), dust, grimy corners, peeling wallpaper and a shower curtain/screen that defied belief. After a reasonable night's sleep there we went down to breakfast... more
