Read some reviews and totally smashed this place BUT people I think expect the earth now a days, it's not a ramada or Novotel it's a B&B! Yes, looks a bit dated but it ain't that bad as I've stayed clearly in some dumps. If you expect the earth you rarely get it, ok for single night in and out.... More

I have stayed in hundreds of hotels and I would have to say this is in the top 5 worst hotels that I have stayed in. I have never left a review on any hotel I have stayed in but felt obliged to leave one for this terrible B&B. The decor is dated and the room was filthy e.g. Dirty... More

Expensive booking cancellation. I booked and in few days changed my mind because. After several mails and lose of time, I obtained the refund of the amount except for the cost of one night (on six booked). When I met Mr. George, he told me the cost was the amount due to bank. He admitted his bank is very expensive...

I have never before left a review however I felt compelled to write this as I lay awake in this extremely poor value for money b&b! I'm currently contemplating sleeping in my car! The owner quite rude and abrupt! Cost £95 no breakfast included! Room- shocking, old, wall paper coming off, broken furnature, very very dated, old scabby carpet and... More

Please be aware when booking this guest house. As other reviews have said, George is without a doubt the most unreasonable person to deal with. I had to cancel my booking giving him 5 days notice. He originally said that with a few days notice it would not be a problem to cancel. He became very irate and threatening on... More

Having read several negative reviews of Aylesbray Lodge, on the day my wife and I were due to arrive there, I was concerned at what we would find. In fact, there were no problems, the room was very clean and it was clear the owners are in the process of steadily working through the building, decorating it a room at... More

We have just spent 2 days at Aylesbray Lodge. We were met by the owner and a staff member who were very friendly and helpful. The room that we were given was at the front of the house so there was a lot of traffic noise. Unfortunately that was not our only concern, the room was small and was in... More

I stayed here last weekend. This is a cute little B and B located up the road from the Hospital. It's a short ride to the city center by taxi or bus. The owner was quite nice. The room was a decent size for a single room. the bathroom was extremely small, but you don't need something massive for an... More

Good value reasonable B&B. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to a friend. Some decor needs a little refresh, but if they did that they would also have to raise the rates. Don't understand some of the other negative reviews as we found staff, breakfast and room all really good.

Stay away. I have had such a bad experience with the lodge. We booked and went to stay there. First the pictures that you see on the website is not what you get. The walls are dirty and the safety information you can not even read. When i wanted to see the other rooms they told me this is what... More
