Stay away. I have had such a bad experience with the lodge. We booked and went to stay there. First the pictures that you see on the website is not what you get. The walls are dirty and the safety information you can not even read. When i wanted to see the other rooms they told me this is what... More

The room was tiny, dingy and the paper peeling was peeling off the en suite wall. I complained and was given a more recently furnished room in a house 2 doors away. Unfortunately I had booked for 12 nights! The room was never cleaned properly during the entire stay, the carpet was filthy. On one occasion I came back to... More

Bedroom small noisy and grubby. The breakfast, which I only had on one day was a rip off very poorly cooked and presented. Could not recommend very pricey and even though the host was very friendly I felt he was too friendly. I want professionalism and value for money not smiles while having my pockets picked. One star for location... More

Lovely stay. Very clean room, excellent service, delicious breakfast. Just what I was looking for! Would recommend if you are looking for a traditional B&B experience for a good price. Just lovely - I would definitely stay again and am actually already planning my return. TOP MARKS ALL ROUND!

Turned up mid afternoon noone was there to answer the door so went to the shop, by the time u got back George was in. Greeted by snooty George and I had an expensive road bicycle with me, he wanted me to leave it outside despite telling him it was worth £6000 lecturing me on health and safety (managed to... More

I feel compelled to write about my experience at the Aylesbray Lodge because I have never experienced such genuine kindness from strangers. George and Ana are truly good, kind, gentle folk and could not recommend anywhere else better to stay in Cambridge. I stayed at the Guest House on and off for several months while my wife was in hospital.... More

I am bewildered by some of the comments on this. I had such a lovely stay!! The owner George Pippas was super polite and sweet and was very helpful on arrival. I had a couple of questions about the City and he took the time to help answer my questions and chatted with my husband and I every morning at... More

It was like something out of fawlty towers but much much worse! I can't go over it again but the people who gave the bad reviews were NOT exaggerating. It was shabby, unclean, overheated with such a bad buzzing noise it gave my daughter a headache and I drove home in the early hours of the morning! We would have... More

I booked a last minute room for me and my partner and his sister and her partner we booked rooms together and was in complete different buildings, the man greeted us with a snobby attitude and looked down his nose at myself and sister in law because we had a bottle of wine in our bag shouting that we was... I unfortunately found myself at the mercy of Aylesbray Lodge's proprietor - a certain George Pippas - when I booked a couple of rooms at the lodge for my family and sadly had to cancel the booking again. I called George within minutes of making the booking to try and cancel the rooms again, and I mean literally within five... More
