The Helen Hotel is excellent in every respect (although out of the centre of Cambridge). The staff are very good; nothing was too much trouble for them - the receptionist accommodated a special request of ours, and the ladies in the dining room, at breakfast time, were helpful, friendly and efficient. The hotel was spotlessly clean in all areas and... More

Helen Hotel is a good place to stay when visiting Cambridge. We had a room on the second floor which was great for a small family group- 2 adults 1 child. Clean and spacious. Parking was available and free which is a massive plus in Cambridge. We walked to the city. Perfectly acceptable breakfast. Very friendly staff. Would stay again.

I agree with a previous review that it really should be called a guesthouse and as such I found it personally excellent. Our room was on the top room (could be a problem with someone with walking difficulties) facing the road but had no problems with traffic noise. The room was a good size and very clean. The staff were excellent... More

There are expectations of a hotel which were not here. Call it a guest house and I'd score it higher. Building is actually two semi-detached housed knocked together with just a few walls knocked through. Front car park holds just four average cars, there is a yard at the back but you need to find it by driving down the... More

I have just stayed for 3 nights at the Helen Hotel Cambridge. This is not in the centre of the city, but due to the difficulty in parking it was better to be a short distance out. A short drive is a Cineworld witha Tesco Express, Sainsburys local and a few restaurants. Rooms are comfortable with heating, TV and tea/coffee... More

Had a twin room which was clean and the bathroom was lovely. Excellent location near Cambridge train station. It is on a main road but actually slept really well and heard no traffic at all. It was good that there was some parking. It is about a twenty minute walk to the centre of town.

Booked this hotel for a weekend into the city and wasn't disappointed. The hotel is about a block away from the Cambridge Leisure center. Lots of places to eat to include a Tesco express and a small Sainsburys. The bed was a little hard and the pillows were sort of soft, but overall a comfy and cozy place. The room... More

The room is spacious and comfortable. But there is no lift in the building. If you are bringing big luggage, don't consider this hotel. They only have one room in the ground floor for the disabled. Breakfast is excellent and service is good. The only downside is quite far from the University and shopping area. Have to walk more than... More

An independent hotel conveniently situated for exploring Cambridge on foot - if, like us, you don't mind a walk - or by bus, the stop being just across the road. The accommodation was perfectly adequate, very clean and despite being on a busy road we were not disturbed by traffic. Breakfast was fine and the staff were polite and helpful.... More

reading the other reviews I wonder if we were staying at the same Hotel,on arrival the exterior seemed tired, our parking was at the front and off the road with another large car park at the back.On entry the receptionist was welcoming, and our room on the first floor was large and comfortable ,spotlessly clean.Quite old fashioned but in keeping with the...
