This was better that I expected for the price. Our room was very comfortable, although up a lot of stairs with no lift. A small garden and a conservatory where you can have tea, and lunch, with good service. The breakfast was fine, nothing special. It's a great location, just by the river.

First time staying at this hotel. I had read a number of negative reviews but am a firm believer that one has to experience things first hand, rather than pre judge. The hotel itself is dated but clean and comfortable. Stairs in the coach house are difficult with a heavy case. I had been up since 5am and did not... More

My wife and I stayed there as we wanted a hotel close to the city centre. A 10 min walk through the park and one is in the centre of Cambridge. There is an excellent car park which is very close to the entrance. Our room was very big with all expected amenities. The restaurant, bar and conservatory are very... More

The Arundel is an older Hotel with a traditional feel to it. It is superbly positioned only 10 min walk to the centre of Cambridge opposite the beautiful Jesus Green right by the Cam. That said, the room was the smallest I have probably ever stayed in, a cross between that cupboard under the stairs and the Janitors mop store.... More

I had a room in the Coach House because I find stairs difficult. It is a good hotel, I have stayed there before and will do so in the future. Details of the hotel are given on their website: www.arundelhousehotels.co.uk . The food and service are excellent and it is close to the centre of town. The hotel consists originally... More

There is a nice hotel here, trying to get out of a slough of gloomy staff and poor cleaning, poor breakfast service and general genteel decay. There was a thin triangle of grey dust in the ensuite toilet, emphasised by the red and tattered carpet; clearly the cleaning staff need new crevices tools for the vacuum or glasses, or better... Being well positioned close to the city centre and overlooking the River Cam does not make up for poor service, a bland breakfast and an uneven mattress. I paid £130 for this B and B in order to attend a friend's wedding at Selwyn College. The only blot on what was otherwise a terrific weekend, was this hotel. The short... More

If you enjoy eating breakfast while waiting 15 minuets to be seated this is the hotel for you. The head waitress badmouths the other staff as she walks by and has a smile that could freeze hell. If the staff stuck to doing one thing well rather than trying to run everything then it might work, sadly they are yet... More

I've just returned from a two night stay with friends. On finding an entrance we were immediately greeted by a flight of stairs to climb to reach reception. Checking in was efficient and the greeting friendly. The receptionist took the time to explain the card entry system which was a new one to us. After climbing various short flights of... More
