Used this hotel twice before on overnight stays recently this year , each time staff were rude and could not care less . Dropped in for lunch on saturday , unfortunately the menu did not include and low calorie meals so my partner and I had two drinks totally £5.40 and decided to eat elsewhere , when we left we... more

Great location, almost next door to the Fitzwilliam Museum, and a short walk to King's Parade and the city centre. The river (and punting) is a fifteen minute stroll away. Plenty of bars and restaurants around. The hotel car park is a bonus, parking is at a premium in Cambridge especially at peak times of the year. The hotel is... more

This hotel management has the least concern for the boarders particularly if you happened to be there in December. Cacophoney of binge drinking Christmas Party is the regular evening feature - you have to suffer a lot particularly if you are captive diners (under their dinner included package). Rooms are not comfortable for cold nights. Complaints do not help. Furthermore... more

The hotel was lovely, the room was spacious and clean. All the staff were wonderfully helpful.....but! Our breakfast waiter was surley and unhelpful, simple bacon and eggs took over 30mins to come out of the kitchen with no apology. We would stay again. more

I was recently in Cambridge on business, and stayed at the Royal Cambridge Hotel when booked through an external agent. Arriving on the train, the hotel is probably about twenty minutes away on foot – but we took a taxi which took about five minutes. Entering through the main street entrance (look for the two globe-shaped lamps), takes you into... more

We stayed here for 1 night (Saturday) as part of a Wedding Party. The evening's activities were held in the Basement of the Hotel. We had room 208 overlooking Trumpington Street, and although we had to have the windows open a little because of the heat (in March!), we didn't suffer from the noise of the traffic. The hotel has... more

Although Cambridge is only 75 minutes drive from our home it was not a place we had previously visited so we decided to take a short weekend break. We booked the Royal Cambridge after reading favourable reviews on Trip advisor. On arrival reception were very helpful and without prompting provided maps and information on places to visit. The bedroom was probably the... more

The Royal Cambridge is well located and has a certain charm to it. The breakfast is excellent too. The hotel is in an old building so it creaks a lot which isn't good when you're trying to sleep and the person upstairs is pacing. Bathroom is ok but shower was a bit weak. In general a reasonable hotel and satisfactory... more

We had a lovely time for my brothers 60th birthday. The rooms were clean and had all the toiletries that anyone would need. We had dinner in the restaurant, the food and ervice were excellent. The only criticism was that we paid the same price for the single room as the double room, otherwise and excellent weekend. more

I booked a night at the hotel while on a 2 day business trip, was swayed by the fact that it was close to the town centre and had a car park, which is always a plus in Cambridge. Now some might not like this place as it is a typical old-fashioned English hotel with creaky floorboards and decor set... more
