I was staying here as part of a University course. My twin room in the new ' tower' was lovely, spotlessly clean and quiet, plain/simply furnished but conformable nevertheless. The breakfasts were excellent, using locally sourced ingredients. Cambridge very near for access. The reception staff ( a tad dis-organised on occasion) were very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this... More

Stayed at Madingley Hall last week for 2 nights whilst visiting family. It is a beautiful building in fantastic grounds. Staff very nice and helpful. Our twin room was spotlessly clean and the breakfast was historic. Will look to stay again when I next visit Cambridge.

Delightful character building surrounded by beautiful grounds. Peaceful and quiet location. Ideally located to all amenities. Comfortable bedroom with en-suite bathroom was ideal for 2. Delicious cooked breakfast, or continental should you wish, excellent staff helpful and friendly. Would highly recommend to all.

Stayed one Sunday night after a lovely day at the Uni in Cambridge, in a double en-suite room. The property is spectacular on the approach and is set in lovely grounds. The rooms was clean, functional and simply furnished; as was the bathroom. But beware, the usual toiletry "amenities" are few and far between. Though tea/coffee making items were present.... More

Madingley is situated a few miles outside of central Cambridge and the location is perfect for people wishing to spend time there without staying in the busy city itself. Madingley Hall is a beautiful place and very peaceful with the studious atmosphere of a Cambridge college. The gardens are lovely and although the rooms are quite basic the facilities were... More

Madingley Hall wasn't exactly what we expected. We booked using a late rooms service which listed it just as a five-star hotel. The extreme lateness of our booking meant we didn't really query the price, we just thought we'd got a good deal because they had rooms to fill. Madingley Hall is lovely, set in a wonderful garden and operated... More

I had an opportunity to stay at the Madingley Hall during one of the continuing education courses related to my business activity. I was sceptical that this may be something like a hostel accommodation with absolutely no facilities. However, after arriving at this place, I did not have any regret. It is indeed an heritage site that is well maintained... More

I went with several friends to have afternoon tea. The gardens are well worth exploring, very well kept. We had full afternoon tea in a large room, sitting in comfortable chairs. But we were the only ones, there was no atmosphere. Tea was pleasant, but the sandwiches were cold, obviously hadn't been taken out of the fridge in time. We... More

I stayed at Madingley Hall for 1 night on my way home from Norfolk to explore Cambridge the next day. Madingley Hall is a beautiful big old building with Character, sitting on a lawn and gardens from the front view there were cows grazing in the fields. We had a double room booked with breakfast. The room was adequate for... More

this is a good place to stay for few nights. The place is very remote. The rooms are very simple, but the gardens are beautiful. However it shall be noted that some parts of the garden are not open always, and it is better to check it. there are some organised excursions to the garden, which is worth attending. there... More
