This beautiful homestead has been expanded and converted a few times over the years, and although now used as a hotel and conference venue, the rooms still remind you of the Cambridge Uni student residence it once was. The dinning room and other conference rooms at the front of the house are beautiful, and the food was very good. The... More

This is a great place to stay in Cambridge for a night or two. The building has a great historic feel and the gardens are beautiful too. The rooms are very simple with a small bed and a tiny TV. The rooms have the feel of a hostel, but the rooms are clean and fine for 1-2 nights. It seems... More

In my opinion this is more along the lines of a small step up from a youth hostel where you get your own room. The price is unbelievably expensive, you can stay in the centre for the same price in a much better premier inn or similar actual hotel. The decor is simply crummy, tired and It was not clean... We had our Xmas works party here and then I stayed in the accommodation that evening. Venue was great. Lovely building and grounds. The meal and party were enjoyed by everyone that attended as far as I know. Food was delicious. My room was a basic single room. It was basically but clean and tidy if a little dated. It... More

As others have advised this is campus accommodation not your regular hotel. The building, gardens and drive are very picturesque and date from the mid 16th century. The room does have a student type feel and was similar in style to chain hotels. The shower pressure was good, bed comfy and the room was equipped with a flat screen TV... More

Our room was not even up to an average Premier Inn standard, small, with curtains that didn`t even offer privacy. As for the food, eat elsewhere. We had a bar meal in the evening with bread that was hard and we chose not even to eat. Breakfast was the worst offering we have ever had in any hotel. The food... More

An amazing place to stay the gardens where exceptional and worth walking around. A little out of town taxi costing £15-£20 each way. Breakfast was lovely but facilities for evening meal/drinks were very basic. The menu was limited and mostly unavailable on the we stayed No room service and the room we stayed in was very small but very clean.

I stayed here last week and I was really impressed with the hotel grounds and the building. So much character I was in room 38 which was a room in the buildings out the back. They were nice clean rooms but it just lacked in character for me and was like any other hotel room The bar had free tea... More

Madingley Hall is a bit of an odd one. It's not a 5* hotel (as for instance booking.com will want you to believe). Madingley Hall is the venue for continuing education of Cambridge University. However, they offer rooms on B&B rates also for non-participants at very attractive rates. Hence it is a great alternative to your standard travelodge etc. or... More

On Sunday 27th September 2015, we celebrated a significant family event with a wonderful Celebration Lunch at beautiful Madingley Hall. There were 13 of us, ranging from teenagers, to grandparents: and everyone had a wonderful day. I had chosen Madingley Hall for this special event after visiting it much earlier in the year, along with a number of other possible... More
