I stayed just three nights here on a business trip. I must have had a refurbished room because it was everything I needed. Good space, comfortable bed, quiet and functioning temperature control, good bathroom with wonderfully thick towels. Friendly staff and a large breakfast rounded out this very satisfactory stay. It's a 20 minute walk from the train station. A... More

We visited the Cambridge City Hotel last weekend for a mini break. We found the location to be very convenient. We hopped off the bus and walked about 200m to Downing St, where the hotel is located. We arrived about two hours prior to our check in time and were pleased to learn that our room was already ready. The... More

We were a little sceptical about this hotel after reading some reports on Trip Advisor, but these were found to be totally unfounded. We were in a room which had not yet been refurbished, but you would have to be very picky to find anything to complain about. Breakfast had everything you could possibly want, we had one evening meal... More

Very well situated, although not in the midst of all the famous Colleges, very close to some of the smaller ones. Integral parking, although we did not need to use this, with access directly from inside the hotel. Reception is upstairs or an escalator ride and I am not sure if the lift accesses the ground floor so if you... More

The staff were helpful, welcoming and pleasant. I didn't eat much in the restaurant because it seemed a bit overpriced. My room was clean, tidy and very spacious. After two weeks, I felt very much at home. The location is convenient: within walking distance of the town.

We stayed 2 nights in one of the refurbished rooms. It was clean and the air conditioning was wonderful since it was muggy out. The breakfast was a large buffet and included great fresh fruit, eggs cooked to order, pastries. Enjoyed the visit and would stay again.

We didn't stay at the hotel this time, but had a drink in their large and spacious bar. After a hot day's visit to the Botanic Gardens and The Museum of Anthropology, this is a relaxing and comfortable space to have a drink, albeit an expensive one: Perroni at £5 a pint. We set by the (opening) windows overlooking Downing... More

I have been in two minds about writing this review, but the fact that I still have the disappointment of our weekend stay at the Cambridge City Hotel etched in my mind leads me to believe I need some closure. The City of Cambridge is close to both mine and my wife’s heart, we met in Cambridge, I proposed in... More
