The Earl of Derby While having a pint in the Earl of Derby last year we heard the sound of an Irish accent from behind the bar. During the ensuing chat we heard about their B+B. We thought it might be ok for a night. And was it? The rooms are through the pub and down a corridor at the... More

Having struggled to find a weekend stay in Cambridge for anything approaching reasonable rates I was glad to have found the Earl of Derby. While still not 'bargain' prices they still compare well to what some other places seem to get away with charging. It is a safe and easy 15 minute walk straight down into the city centre, passing... Thank you for writing a review of your stay with us over the weekend. I am very glad you did not hear any noise from the bar, we have stopped doing live music for this exact reason, so nice to see its paying off. As to the draining of the shower I will look into this and the weekend staff... More

Stayed here for 2 nights whilst in Cambridge for an interview. Room was basic but clean, free wifi, hairdryer and good shower! The staff here really make the place; they are very friendly and made me feel very welcome. Breakfast is awesome too!

The Earl of Derby is conveniently located 10 ten minute walk from the train station. Upon arrival, we were surprised to find out it has an Irish bar downstairs (which actually sells Tayto crisps and Club Orange!). As we were too early to check-in, the barman kept us entertained by rustling up various concoctions involving whiskey and Guinness. Bonus point.... More

We stayed here at the weekend, the location is great, only. 5 minute walk from the railway station and 15 minute walk into city centre. The pub is ok good selection of drinks and the food is ok. The rooms are ok but basic, a little dusty but overall clean. Breakfast was very good.

Stayed in one of the annex rooms upstairs. Rooms are bit Travel Lodge like but maybe bathroom not quite as modern but OK. Comfy beds, free WiFi in rooms and bar, nice bar and good breakfast with as much tea and coffee that anyone could possibly drink.

Room had dirty window sills and bedding smelt of fried food. Found empty pizza box and beer bottles in the drawer of the bedside cabinet. We only stayed here as it was local to Addenbrook's hospital, where our son was in intensive care. If we hadn't been at the hospital and awake for over 60 hours we would never have... More

Stayed here last night as need a place in cambridge after a gig at he corn exchange. This was the cheapest lace I could find (at £110), it was a no frills room that was clean and tidy with lots of tea and coffee. Shower was really nice and the bed was comfy. Best bit however was breakfast, a proper... More
