It stinks of fish, we thought it must have been someone's musky fanny but it could have been the bathmat. Got told to ring George if we had any problems, but unfortunately we weren't given the main mans number. We renamed the place abbey slaughter house because it gave off the vibe you were about to be killed brutally. In... More

Whilst working in Cambridge i stayed here twice. The first time the owner wasn't there when i needed to check in, so waited. The bed was old and creaked with every move. There was a bit of litter just under the bed (sweet wrappers). The second time i stayed he did not meet me at all, the key was under... More

Things just went downhill from the moment I was greeted by a foul mouthed, abusive and lying owner to the time I was driving off after an extremely unpleasant stay and his 'wife' rang me on my mobile to shout and swear at me. The rooms are the wrong side of Spartan, the bathrooms dirty (and the plugs do not... More

The only good thing is that is clean and my single room has TV. The rest, anything good. They don't have anyone to ask something, maps of the city, breakfast and it is expensive because I paid 45 for one night (single room). It only includes a towel.

The previous reviews made this sound like it was going to be a hell hole. Turned out to be good value for money. Host was friendly, rooms were clean. About 20 minutes walk to the centre of town. Only downside was the drunk students who came back at 4am and threw up in the hall. More a comment on their character... More

Yes, this is a hostel and the room we stayed in was 'okay' but it was absolutely freezing and the shower room was disgusting! Seemed to be a lot of single men staying there. Do not recommend. Smells fusty.

Really wished i'd done my homework before booking this accomodation. On arrival i met a lovely couple who had also booked into this guest house, but they knew what to expect and brought their own sleeping bags . After giving my £70 to the owner, he presented me with the key to our room. On entering the room we were... More

This place claimed to be a guesthouse but felt closer to a doss house. While some effort had been made towards superficial cleanliness, the place had an overall air of neglect, with dust and long time grime, including in the shared bathroom. It smelled badly of damp. The sheets and towels provided were clean, and the house was in a... More

This has to be the worst "guesthouse" in the country. Surely they have to adere to some regulations? Where to start? The propietor had a go at us because our flight was delayed and we didn't (ie: couldn't) contact him to let him know. The cleaning man was incredibly rude. The place looked like it was furnished from the house... More

Where to start? This place is vile! We went out for the evening and delayed coming back as late as we possibly could as it was so grim. The whole place was in need of a thorough deep clean and redecoration...oh and some new fittings and furniture wouldn't go amiss! We were told that the "Flat screen TV" in our... More
