Uplands is not perfect BUT let's remember what the price is. I paid £52 per night, including a full English breakfast, for a hotel in the beautiful English countryside, just a few miles from Heathrow airport. So I'm not going to expect luxury!! The hotel room was a bit dated and tired and the decor left something to be desired.... More

The grounds are well maintained and attractive. The hotel looks good from the outside and the reception area is good too. We were in the lodge which to be honest is a bit tired and could do with updating but it was warm and clean. The bathroom had certainly seen better days and we did have some problem with the... More

Booking in was OK. Went to room which was accessed off Butlins type walkway. The room was dirty, all walls and ceiling with marks and some scratches and dents. Carpet had been repaired badly with a patch which was threading.Carpet was also badly stained. All and I mean all paintwork scratched badly. All silicon around bath which was once white... More

We thought we'd found ourselves a real bargain at £55 a night but no, one of the worst hotels I've stayed in! The picture on booking.com was very sneaky, yes there is a lovely old house but all of the bedrooms are located various cell blocks next to the lovely old house. The walls were so thin I could hear... More

On first arrival the hotel looked lovely, the grounds well kept. Car park is a bit away from the reception. Lots of steps. We did arrive early and was able to pick a room, which was nice as we got a ground floor as there are no lifts. Reception area nice, where you can get complementary tea, coffee and biscuits.... More

I stayed here a few times and I don’t really like it, it is the worst De Veres Hotel I have stayed at. I don’t like the fact that you leave reception and then have to go outdoors to access your rooms. It feels like a run done council estate. With one room I have stayed at, .you go through... More

I shopped around and managed to book into Uplands for £65 for the night (bed only). I'm not after luxury at this sort of price but I do expect a decent standard when it comes to the basics. I want walls that are not paper thin to ensure I can't hear the boozed up reps attending a conference flirting (badly)... More

I have just returned from a two night stay at the Uplands House Hotel. I wasn't expecting a lot as I had read the reviews (after booking unfortunately) but I was preying I was going to one of the lucky ones. We arrived approx 5pm on a Sunday evening and the hotel was dead. Young girl on reception was very... More

Stayed with husband and in-laws as attending a family party nearby. Given the area the room rate was very good. Very friendly and helpful greeting from reception on arrival and reception area looks nice. Room was a good size and clean but in need of a refurb, bathroom in particular very dated and a bit shabby and rest of family... More
