We stayed at Holland House for 4 nights in August last year. Having stayed at many Mercure hotels, I think this is probably the most modern, clean and spacious I've experienced. Our room was very reasonably priced so we were quite shocked when taken into a huge, front facing room with large ensuite bathroom. It had an enormous bed, lovely... more

Stayed over in Bristol for Valentine's and was really looking forward to staying as had read so many great reviews on TA. however, when we got there one of the bulbs on the sign had gone out and so it showed three stars instead of four - that, for me, summed up the hotel. The outside is a pretty ugly... more

Have just stayed here for the 2nd time in 6 months as we were so impressed with the city and the hotel 1st time round. Paid with Tesco Clubcard vouchers and altho' B&B rate was therefore more than if we'd paid cash (£99 per night B&B) 2 nights cost us £50 in Clubcard voucers. Bargain. Used swimming pool this time... more

Love the review by ciderlemur, I think their sarcasm about the negative reviews pretty much sums up my opinion of them as well!! I think some of the people who reviewed this hotel have got confused and must have stayed somewhere else!! I stayed for 1 night with my partner and 2 other couples for a friends 30th birthday. We... more

I have enjoyed many of the reviews of this hotel I have read prior to visiting and am pleased to now be able to contribute my own. These reviews built up my expectations so highly I feel a little sad that I must report the maitre d' was, in fact, not French enough in my opinion. Yes he was French... more

I has a treat for my birthday. Pro’s: when booked, the person was very helpful, and the price was very reasonable. The receptionist and all the staff have a “do” attitude. It was a perfect location – on the river, just outside the busy city centre, and, 5-10 mins for the main attractions- bars, river, restaurants, . The breakfast was... more

This is a large 4-star hotel, newly refurbished from a former bland office building near the docks and Temple Meads station. Everything is modern, in a bland and rather airless style. The windows of the rooms don't open, and the rooms seem stuffy, despite air-con. There is a pool - but the process of getting clearance (health & safety) -... more

Stayed two nights on a weekend trip and found this hotel very good value, comfortable beds, really big rooms, friendly staff and quick service at the fronk desk. The only things which could have been improved were the aircondioning - really noisy and you could not open the windows, and the mini-bar - although there was a working fridge it... more

I was pleasantly surprised by the trendy modern yet elegant interior. The rooms were very clean and a great size. The bed was so comfortable. We stayed valentines weekend and ate in the restaurant, the food was good, we had to wait a little longer than expected however this is to be expected as it was valentines evening. Really good... more
